I've tried hitting the back button to get to clues but they never seem to be there when I click the back button to go look. The most frustrating part is seeing several clues in one day....that are all exactly the same! That's no help at all. I did happen to accidentally stumble upon, sort of from a clue hint, sort of just random searching, a page that gave me 2 important pieces of information that let me know what I'm looking for to fill in my missing pieces. Just waiting for those couple clues to arrive though, and I'll be all set! I hope.

I've pressed back up to four times to pass a submitted quiz, and been able to access a clue that way, I wonder if it matters what browser you're on. I've done it on both Firefox and Explorer.

Here is a posting I made on the Back-up attack on passed clues from the last running Treasure Clues thread

Does anyone else find it frustrating when a clue pops up at the top of the page on a question set in the Global Challenge? I've tried to do a quick copy and paste or, failing that, use my browser go back and scroll back up to the page tops. Today I discovered a quick way to go all the way back to the beginning of the GC from the end of the seventh game. This works in IE browsers (but I'm sure there is a same way on other browsers)
Instead of pointing and clicking the "Go Back" button, 'Alt and Left arrow" accomplish the same task. Then, instead of pointing to scroll to the page tops, I held down the page up key. I went through all 21 screens in about a minute (Sad report, I hadn't missed any new clues today).

So, in IE, to go from the end of the GC to the beginning and seeing the tops of each page, it's:
'alt + left' and 'page up'; 'alt + left' and 'page up'; 'alt + left' and 'page up';... seventh 'alt + left' and 'page up'.

Edited by mehaul (Sun Apr 29 2012 08:46 AM)

Edit: I guess that's more than seven 'alt+lefts', 21 maybe from the very end.

I use Safari, which came with my Macbook, and sadly none of the above hints are helpful. Tried them all today. I did however, get one of the very important clues that I missing yesterday, after months of waiting. I was so excited! Almost there...

I'm so close now I can almost taste it. Between my lowest numbered clue and my highest, I figure I have 10 Clues left to wait for. I've gotten a couple useless ones in the past, and I know at least 2 of the clues I have left are useless, because another clue told me so. From what I know I need, from finding the treasure before, I need 4 more vital pieces of information before I go searching for the treasure again. Getting very excited now. I almost have it!

A question - you know how on some of the clues, it will say things like "Treasure Hunt Clue #3: (1 of 6)"?

Are there actually 6 number 3s? Because so far, I haven't gotten more than 1 clue for a specific clue number.

That will be something to work out when you get (2 of 6) but there are lots of things which only become apparent when you've got more clues. And no one can help you with the details.

All I can tell you is that you have to be patient. I've been at it for about 2 months now. I have a word document of all of the clues I have collected, and the information I have gleaned from them, that I've picked up along the way. I have actually found the treasure before, but I couldn't get it. Finding it though helped me know what to look for. Some clues make sense on their own, others do not. Figuring it out is all part of the fun! It's a treasure HUNT, it's not supposed to be easy. Good luck with the clue finding! smile

I actually already have that one... (assuming its the same for both of us.) I have 1 of 6, 2 of 6, and 6 of 6. But they're all different clue numbers. I'm thinking it might be a procedure of what to do, or something? But that doesn't make sense because 1 of 6 is a prerequisite.

I have 1, 2, 3, and 5 of 6. You just have to wait for the ones you are missing. Everyone has their own clues, so the clues you see are not the same as the clues other people see. You have to figure out what they mean for yourself, no one else could be able to tell you even if they would.

Stumbled across the treasure chest in a quiz. Still missing 3 clues though, so I guess I'll have to actually look for the treasure again when I have everything...

And it won't be where you just found it, since it's a highly mobile treasure chest.

Yeah. This is actually the second time I've seen it. The first time I went looking for it but was missing A LOT. Finding it did help me know what was in the clues I was still waiting for though, which was nice. This time I just happened across it.

kaddarsgirl,

You should try to do something to try to get the treasure if you stumble upon it, even if you don't have all the clues. Not every one is essential to getting the treasure, and you might learn something important for next time. You're close. Good luck!

Hi Everyone - I loved doing the Treasure Hunt and for me the process did take time and require patience (the hardest part for me). It took me about three months to collect all the clues (I think I got them all) and in the process I went off on several tangents, some which helped move me along toward the treasure and some which were total wild goose chases. However, the process helped me to work out the steps and see how the clues work together (which many do). All the while I was doing other games and challenges, trying not to get fixated. I was like an ant saving up for the winter, waiting for the moment when I felt I could make a big push to the finish.

When I finally managed to find the treasure it did only take about half an hour; but that came after a long period of clue collection, study, and false starts. My advice: Have patience; do a little bit of work each time; collect as many of the clues as you can (that does take time); lay out the clues in order and see how they interrelate; then go for it!

Thanks Muspratt and shuehorn!

Sue, it is kinda weird now seeing clues pop up at the top of the page and not having to do anything with them.

I know how you feel! My quest was years long, so after being so in tune with the clues and now not having anything to do with them, it is strange. But it is a great accomplishment to have found the treasure!

I felt sorta empty after I first found the treasure... I played when it was the hottest topic... Everyone was going for it, as it was brand new. To watch everyone else play for it and discuss ideas, and for it to be over for me, was..... odd.

Of course, I was also inundated with questions about what to do. I was one of the first several to win it, and, just like the riddle and conundrum, I had to answer tons of questions about it without giving anything away..... That was actually more difficult than the hunt itself. I so desperately wanted to say something that would totally give clues away, but I couldn't. :P

I wish we could have another treasure hunt. We could have a different colored clue bar, so we have two treasure hunts to go for. Of course, those who haven't found the treasure yet would have a difficult time; they'd have to keep two lists and write clues on two things and make sure they don't mix up the clues. :P

So never mind. Idea not so good after all. wink

I felt so good about myself when I figured out the Riddle! Immediately after finishing though I wished there was another one I could do. I've been a lot more actively recently then I ever have been in the past and I've completed most of the scavenger hunts and the riddle, and it feels good to complete one, but now there's only regular quizzes to play...and daily and hourly games I guess. Another hunt to riddle would be awesome though. Perhaps it could be set up for the clues for a second treasure hunt to be given out on,y after completing the first one. That way new players wouldn't have to keep two lists or get confused?

I think that would be a good idea, to only reveal the clues upon completion of the first.

And, of course, I would like to see the second treasure hunt to be infinitely more difficult to find than the first was. :P Provide an added challenge that way.

And I am in complete agreement... More riddles, scavenger hunts, treasures, etc. They are my favorite types of badges to win. smile

Yes, but you also thought the first one would be the death of you... And there you are.

The point would BE to be near impossible to find it... Even the top players would take months to find it (granted, we thought that with the first one, too, but this time I mean it. :P) It would be a mega-badge, due to its insane difficulty.

It'd be fun to compile, too. If I were smart enough, I'd get started, so I'd already have it for Terry... :P But I can't make a treasure hunt. Haha.

I got lucky! Took me less than a year, on the first try when I actually TRIED for the treasure. It really isn't difficult so long as you have the necessary clues.
