I've just looked at my challenges for today and it presents me with a moral dilemma. If I do Mind Melt in casual mode (at least I read the task properly today!) my score won't count for my team because only timed mode counts for the team competition. That's a horrible choice to make, lol.

Shouldn't it just be made MM in general? NO WAY would I play MM in casual mode.

The task is to play in casual, cubs. If you don't want to doit if you ever get the task, don't. :-)

Flopsy! Do whichever you want... I think the team can manage if you play casual. :P

Flopsy, my team manages when I don't play at all. :P But then, we aren't champions defending #1 spot....

Sadly we're not no. 1 in Mind Melt and I had the top score for the team yesterday so I think I'll pass on the challenge just in case I can do it again. smile

I got credit for a difficult challenge where I shouldn't have. I only had 1 entering yesterday and after completing none of the hard challenges yesterday, today I wake up with 2! It might be a bug on the Nemesis challenge or maybe just a glitch but I shouldn't have 2 difficults completed.

However, today I got my easy and medium challenges without any problems. (score perfectly on an "average" quiz and complete a specific crossword puzzle)

triviaking -- you can ignore that. I re-ran the scoring of nemesis fixing it earlier, which double-billed you points.

Ignore Mind Melt / Daily game challenges for now. I'm rebuilding them.

Ok, could all testers please play Mind Melt in timed mode at some point today, and let me know what your final timed score was.

You'll notice 3 challenges generated there, so it's possible for you to win all 3. If my difficulty levels are correct, at least a couple of you should fail the difficult one... hopefully wink

I scored 1998 in Timed mode, and completed all 3 of my Mind Melt Challenges (highest goal was 1803).

Is a goal 1803 any sort of challenge for you? Are there days when you don't hit that?

I usually play in casual/untimed mode. I normally get anywhere from 25-30 correct but I don't know what my equivalent scores in Timed mode would be. I got 24/30 in 201 seconds in today's game.

That being said, I think a score of between 1900 and 2200 would be about even hit or miss for me.

2266 for me. Did not reach difficult goal.

However, I had a more-difficult-than-normal set today. Typically, I range from 120-180 seconds, and usually get 28-30 correct. I am what I view as a medium-skilled player in my level range...

That being said, with time penalties, I would not put the game at much higher than where it's at, just above 2300. That's a good time, and I usually hit it, but sometimes not. 28 in 250 seconds will just barely win it, so that's doable but somewhat difficult for a lot of players. Perhaps up to 2500, but I wouldn't put it any higher than that for the difficulty level. 30 in 250 seconds is 2500, so, actually, come to think of it, perhaps 2500 is too high. 2300 is a good level, IMO. You don't have to scroll down very far to see the highest scores with that score.

So, long babbling nonsense short, 2300 is about perfect, but I would suggest not put it any higher, unless there is a way to detect how good a player is, so it isn't so outrageously simple for players like daBomb. wink

Looking at it again, the score for me to get was closer to 2400, it was 2395. Still, good time. Like I said, a lot of players get over 2500 easily nearly every time, and I'm off and on getting that high.

However, to keep it achievable by more players, keeping it at 2400 is a good number.

Ok, I'll stop babbling nonsense now.

Oh my, I just noticed, Wes' challenge is 2741.

That is getting all 30 correct in about 120 seconds!

There are an extremely small number of players who EVER get that score, and I view this score as FAR too high. You will only ever see a select few (I could count them with just two hands) reach that score. Granted, there will be occasions where even I might get that score, but this is extremely rare, and to get it as a challenge would be incredibly disheartening to just about anyone.

I play nearly every day, and I see the scores. Yesterday, only 4 people would have scored high enough to complete the challenge.

I would suggest lower the number, closer to my number, though that could go 100 more if you would like to make it a bit more challenging... Or you could make the 2741 an epic. smile

Uh, Terry, on second thoughts, methinks my challenge is too easy. The Difficult is 1760. I got 2668.

Wow, top notch score, Mariamir. smile

PS: 2500 would be a bit too easy, looking upon stats of all players. Still, Wes' unfortunate challenge of 2741 is still too high. wink

Or, ignore all my posts. Clearly I have no clue what I'm talking about.

My Difficult Mind Melt required score keeps changing. Is that supposed to be happening?

Yeah I'm messing with the algorithm.

Seems to be improved somewhat now.

If it can't determine a relatively accurate average for how YOU do, it takes a look at how people in your level range do, and gives you a range somewhere in that until it knows more about how you really perform.

I did not get the easy, medium, or difficult for my daily game challenge.

But, then again, I stink at the game and got a terrible score for me; even worse than normal. :P

Lowered easy challenge range a bit for all levels. Mariamir still misses out, but deserves it today wink
