"Although I'm not sure that's a good idea. Why would I buy a challenge costing 15 credits but only be able to earn 2 credits for completing it? I'm not an economist but I've got a feeling that isn't a sound investment..."

Tomorrow it goes back to 9.

Buying is your only chance at epics (badgelets) and you also boost your progress towards the "get X from each difficulty" badges. Plus, you can't do much else with those credits anyway smile

I could hoard them, Wesley, I could hoard. And, gloating, cackle like one of Macbeth's witches.

Or not.

Sigh, Terry is my twin today, and I am already 5,000 ahead. I have to go all the way to 10,000. :P That won't be happening anytime soon. wink

But, on the bright side, more testing of the purchase function shows me that it is indeed still working beautifully. smile

*facepalm*

I hit my 10,000, but I got 14 points too many. GAAAH.

I guess I cannot try any more challenges for the day; I was going to try and buy as many as I could to test. :P

My chance to buy anything today was over with the very first play of today - missed the cut for Daily after hitting a set felt like 70% Celebrities.

Bought a new challenge after completing my original three:

"Score a total of 1192 points in today's The Daily Game - using the TIMED mode.
Played, but in casual mode. Try again tomorrow! Incomplete"

Too bad I played casual mode to complete the initial challenge:

"Score a total of 15 questions correct in today's The Daily Game - using any mode.
Complete"

Oh well, guess I only get to play those three today. Could there possibly be a system set up so that the challenges you buy don't contradict challenges you had to complete in order to buy the new challenge in the first place?

I don't really mind today because I only bought it to see what would happen (since I wasn't online yesterday to try, works fine and deduct the correct credits), and I'm done for today anyway, but I imagine a lot of people in the future might be upset if something similar happens to them. It seems sort of a waste of credits to not get the opportunity to play the new ones you buy.

Good to know Terry! I knew it was a good idea... wink

Ugh, messed up Instaquiz with Quick Quiz and screwed up my twin challenge. I won't have time to get to 5000. Oh well. At least I got my other 2!

Can someone explain to me what the "flags" and such are all about? Just got done with my 16 hour day consisting of 12 hours of work, with 4 hours of college classes before dinner. I don't see it in My Challenges. Maybe I have finally become immune to FT...

These people are testing a new feature that has not yet been released. It sounds as if it will be exciting when we do all get our hands on it, and I am sure it will be easy to see.

Yeah. And Terry, I ran into the same problem. I bought a medium challenge for 12 and got a challenge for MM, which I already played and didn't get enough answers to complete it. It wanted 21 but I only got 19.

Maybe can we get an option of what type of challenge we want to buy? It would be like it is now, but you can choose what kind of challenge you'd want. So like when you're done with all of your challenges, it could say:

Spend 9 credits for a new Easy challenge
Spend 12 credits for a new Medium challenge
Spend 15 credits for a new Hard Challenge
Spend X credits for an EPIC challenge

What do you think? I think it would be a good addition.

Oh, you mean you had already played the game -- not you had a similar challenge.

Yes, that is a risk when you buy a new challenge. It's quite possible it will be for a game that you have already played. Sometimes that will mean you get free completions if you scored well. Othertimes you get instant fail. It's a gamble.

Likewise, so is buying a challenge in the first place. You're not entirely sure what you're going to get. The idea is that epics will appear quite rarely, so that when they do it's special.

I like the random grab bag idea a whole lot more than being able to pick what you get. That's just boring to me.

"Slightly tricky... Score at least 390 points in one of today's Impossible! games in the Global Challenge.
Complete"

Meesa tinkin' disn bery easy. :-P

I mean, this is rather easy. Guessing on all but one question, I got 480. Maybe it should be a little higher?

It takes your average and determines your target from there although I agree that it might be a bit too low. I got a target in the high 500s lately in spite of having a better than 50% record of scoring with it in Hardcore (which is 870 or better)

Terry - is the game specifically looking for categories I play less often when assigning "play quizzes and get points/correct answers" style difficult challenges (which would be a nice touch) or am I just lucky to get such wide open playing fields :P

If we want to use this as a badge, "Do ten challenges in a day" is definitely difficult but well balanced. It's one that you do need to stay on your toes for but not so much that it can't be done. I had a nice variety all through the diffiuclties (with the allegedly easy "Score 16/25 in a quiz about a movie you've never seen" being the major stumbling block) and am now on my 11th (which will be the last since the 12th would cost me 33, one more than I will have after completing #11).

Total cost of 126 credits (minus what you earn over the first six extras) is also at the right level to make the attempt special enough to save up for.

"If we want to use this as a badge, "Do ten challenges in a day" is definitely difficult but well balanced. "

I'm thinking of changing the restriction of "you can only buy a challenge when you have completed ALL your challenges" to "you can only buy a challenge when you have completed 3 challenges today".

Some of our challenges don't complete until the end of the day, which would be a little annoying if you were going for something like 10 in a day.

It also means if you get a particularly hard one you can't complete but had put aside say a day to play lots of challenges, you can keep on going generating new challenges as long as you have credits.

I'd change it to no more than one unfinished (whether one of the original 3 or any other). That way, you can't be blocked off by a single "end of day" round (and more than one should probably be excluded by the selection algorithm).

That way, you can't also be at a loss for a single bad score in your first 3 (as it happened to me yesterday, missed Daily by a few pts)

Hmm, that makes more sense, Terry. For instance, I have a NEMESIS today, so I won't be able to buy any more. Actually, I won't even be able to buy with the new rule either. :P

But I like the new one better. If you are stuck with one you cannot complete for whatever reason, you can still buy another if you've done at least 3. Me likes.

I like Wes' idea a lot as well. smile

It doesn't look like you have anyone to do Nemesis with either. That's a little odd. wink

Or I could keep it simple and remove the restriction entirely, meaning you always buy a new challenge if you have the credits.
