The Word Wizard Mini-Game seems to be using a player's letters in what appears to me to be the wrong order. I would expect it to take letters from right to left, which would mean it is taking the oldest letters first; in fact it appears to take the letters from left to right.

I had the following letters:

O X C R A E N A Q R I N

This gave me the word 'anorexic', and if it took the oldest letters first, it would have left me with R A N Q. Instead, it took the newest letters first, and left me with A Q R N, meaning I could not swap out my two oldest consonants and get rid of the Q.

Is this the way it is meant to work?

This is the way it has been working for me. It's frustrating, at times, when you make a word, hoping to use that right-handed 'R', so that you will be able to turn in a couple of unwanted letters, just to discover that the system took the most recent 'R' instead.

Hi Dippo, if you look at your results for Word Wizard, it shows the letters as you have won them, which relates to an order of right to left, so the first letter removed (the one you have had the longest) will be taken from the left hand side.

But new letters are added on the left; if you wait for a letter to disappear when you reach 13, it takes the oldest, which is the one on the right.

When you play a word, it has always taken the newest letter (the one on the left) if you have multiples of the same letter. Letter exchange and letting one drop off both use the oldest letters. Those facts need to be taken into account if you are planning strategically to manipulate your letters.

Just ignore anything I have said. Am now hurriedly marking all shoes 'L' and 'R'.

Don't worry about it, Surdoux. As my niece once said to me when acting as navigator in a car journey, and telling me to turn left instead of right, 'I meant the other left'. We reached our destination - eventually.

Is there something built into the program that when you trade in two U's for a consonant that you are automatically given a Q?
