Yes, Terry, 10 seems like a good number. I think any less is too easy. wink I'd be in favor of more, but I think the average FT populous would not like me. :P

10 seems to be a nice round number for this one. If it were a "grand prize" award, I'd put it closer to 15, but it's supposed to be something you earn along the way, also as a consolation prize for a day unsuccessfully spent with many purchases aimed at getting an epic but suffering from bad luck.

The grand prize on this is supposed to be the "8 flags" badge, which should feel at least as good and possibly superior to the highly esteemed 7-color rainbow from Pot of Gold.

...and sometimes testing challenges yields valuable results that are not related to challenges at all:

I tried to play http://www.funtrivia.com/trivia-quiz/SciTech/The-Joy-of-HTML-224573.html in game mode to do my difficult challenge for today (4 categories, X points in game mode each) and the display was rather interesting. Everything after a < sign was summarily suppressed, which resulted in a few sets of blank answer buttons and cut-off questions.

I had a correction note about that once, someone thought information in my quiz was missing. Didn't realize this was the reason. Thought it was a browser problem. :-P

Hmm I don't see any < signs at http://www.funtrivia.com/trivia-quiz/SciTech/The-Joy-of-HTML-224573.html

Did you edit the quiz?

No, just accidentally copied the wrong link (I had played several from the subcat). http://www.funtrivia.com/trivia-quiz/SciTech/Basic-HTML-Knowledge-325356.html is the one I had the issues with.

LOL, there used to be a television quiz show over here called "Blankety Blank" - that quiz reminded me of it. I managed to get one of the blank questions right but the others eluded me.

Thanks, fixed. It was getting mad at the "<" symbols in the quiz.

"Play in an hourly game of Word Wizard and score at least 956 points."

I know this is an Easy challenge, but considering I got 1436, could this be a little more?

Like you said, Mariamir, it's an easy challenge... 956 isn't too terribly easy for everyone. wink

I had the impression the challenges to obtain a certain number of points in a certain game would be determined in function of an average over the past weeks.

So for instance if you would score on average 1300 over a month time, the easy challenge would have a goal of, say, 1200.

Is this already implemented by Terry? Or he might have disabled it for some testing reasons.

I believe a system like that is basically in system, but it isn't the most accurate. That gets very complicated after a while. wink

Yeah something like what JanIQ says. If it doesn't have enough data on you, it guesses.

For testing purposes, I'll be assigning epics to all testers.

Although it will be no huge or important secret, please keep the precise requirements vague for now. I like the idea of epics being a little bit of a mystery to most players... adds to the feeling of them smile

OOOOOHHH I am so excited to play the epics!

The way things are going today, though, I most likely do not have a chance of completing either today...

Epic indeed! My lips are sealed.

Although I did once have a sign in my office which read:

Bribery and Corruption

There is no corruption in this office but bribes are always welcome.

Terry, on the Epic today that requires multiple parts to complete...is it possible to have a tracker for what's been completed, other than numbers, so people know which ones they've completed if they're attempting the first option (like you do with X hourlies a day, or play a quiz is X different categories)? Does that make sense? My total so far is 1 each, and I know which game it is right now, because I was paying attention, but if I wasn't, I'd have no idea which game it was. I really hope that made sense..

Awarded retroactively, that's good. I cannot attempt the other one, so someone else will have to see if it works. :P

Are we going to get different epics tomorrow? I don't know if I'll get any of mine today (but I guess that's why they are EPIC wink )

I'll add a couple more tomorrow, and reassign those from today in case anyone wants to try em.

I'd like to try them again smile The second one was kind of tough to do after since they were added later today, so another chance at it will be good. They look great so far!

I like how they look! What are the 8 colored flags going to be? Looks like orange, blue, and black so far...

Great looking! So, if we complete them in testing, do we get 'em? Or wait till it is open to all and sundry?

This is awesome, Terry! Imagine the suspense we are putting the other players through. ;-). We're close to having this thing done, I can taste it. smile

I think it would be a little unfair for us to keep them from testing. Since we don't have to purchase them and we get multiple chances...at least for the ones we got today.
