Sorry but she was hiding with the baby, there were so many people about, and kids making noise that I guess she just wanted peace and quiet.

So here is the proud dad instead.

And a wonderful creature he is too! Not surprised she was hiding away with the baby if it was that noisy, they are very protective of their young.

It was sheer bad luck that we didn't see the baby, when we arrived at the gorilla compound we were by the accommodations and saw straw being pulled/pushed out of the door, the gorilla then walked off carrying a load of the bedding with her. We discovered just afterwards that she had put the baby in the straw then headed for some logs which formed a sort of den, she went in there and stayed.

Apparently earlier she had been walking about with the baby but I am guessing that it got too noisy, lots of children and many of them were not being quiet despite notices asking for quiet in the area for her.

This is mum

Wow, how magnificent and beautiful Dad is, Sue!

Seen at the Rest Area on Interstate 65 just north of Huntsville, Alabama where the US Army Missile Command is.

Thanks everyone, I can't remember what made me check the candidates as I've been a member for years and only shortlisted once earlier this year and didn't even notice at the time, saw I was last week and then followed the process a photo at a time for a couple of days.
I didn't realise you lived in Battlesbridge Christina, I was there twice earlier in the year as I went once to get the two 100km map squares on Dengie Marsh but due to a lack of large scale maps only got one and had to go back again. This was the closest photo I got, on Runwell Road near Wickford.
