Got my first challenge done, play a quiz with 20Q and score 50%, with no problems. Also have Nemesis today, with none other than...you Terry! I expect I'll be winning that one as you hardly ever score...will have to wait until tomorrow, though, to see if that works correctly.

Is the Gold Member perk still in testing mode? I get the "Only testers right now!" message.

Hmm, I've encountered something I didn't see when we were testing - two challenges (medium and difficult), both of which require me to take a list of quizzes. I think 32 is rather a lot. Any chance it could be coded so that players don't get two challenges of this sort?

Hmm there are actually a lot of combinations of those floppy since lots of challenges involve quiz playing.... I can make sure these two dont show up together again, but I don't really want to have to isolate all of them. I think in general, on those days when it offers too much quiz playing, choose one or the other!

The heavens won't melt down if you don't complete challenges. This will hopefully be around for a long, long, long time.

Yeah, flopsy's medium would be a case for the swaps for me as well. It's not like anyone will make a run on "10 in a day" first week, so no harm in using it early

But that's all part of the game - I got an easy one that I really needed to read up on first as well since I was supposed to play in game mode and score quite decently

Your chances of winning "Ten in a Day" wouldn't be affected by using the swap function, only if you spend credits. Still, it's not like anyone is going to be winning "Ten in a Day" anytime soon.

Actually, your swap could mean the difference between getting "Ten in a Day" and not getting it. If you have two incomplete challenges, at any point, that you can't finish (possibly due to failing to get a good enough score in a Daily game...), swapping one out would give you the opportunity to try a different challenge to complete. You can only buy challenges if you have fewer than two incomplete challenges. It's worth saving, except the next two/three weeks, where it doesn't matter. It will take at least 21 days (6 credits a day) to save up enough credits to go for the mini-badge in any case, though, so it doesn't matter right now anyway.

My dificult challenge today was to complete the crossword Generally General V without using easy mode. I played that crossword last week, but I went ahead and did it again. At the end it said that I had already completed that puzzle and did not give me credit for completing the challenge.

Tatis -- I think that this was a weird case where you were actually the last player (of anyone on the site) to complete the crossword, and so the system got angry at you.

I think I've just fixed the problem. Would you mind filling it in again and submitting so we can test the fix?

It should certainly be giving you credit.

My medium challenge said "Score a Word Wizard Gold Member Game word of at least 5 letters." I submitted a 6 letter word and it didn't give credit.

One small carryover observation from the public beta last weekend: A player had C:577 and C:1577 together in one daily set - should probably not happen.

(Being intentionally cryptic here. Terry knows what I'm talking about)

Hmm that should not be possible Wes... those two are specifically excluded from appearing together. When / who was this?

I've put the admin list-of-all-challenges back wesley... feel free to look through people's sets and let me know of any irritatingly-overlapping combinations you find.

Not all overlaps can be excluded due to some of the variation in challenge selection, but we can certainly cut them down a bit.

Terry, unfortunately I don't remember the exact name. It was on the opening minutes of the brief public beta, one of the first few users to get his. (Didn't write down the U numbers in that frantic start and it got closed too early to find him again)

Ohh it's possible I added that exclusion after I saw his entry myself. I did add a few that day as I was looking at everyone's challenges.

I've noticed that I don't have an Epic challenge.
In the stats Epic:0

First, you can only buy epics. Second, the stats represent the number of epics you've completed.

You only get 1 easy, 1 medium and 1 difficult challenge per day. To get epic challenges, you have to buy them. They are fairly rare, so you may have to buy a lot to get them.
