I don't know if this has come up before, but as a non-GM at the moment, my Medium Challenge today was to complete 6 Hourlies from the list, which included Obscurity. But of course I was unable to play that one since it is a GM game. I got the challenge completed but wondered why that game was listed. Should it not default off the listing?

One of my challenges today was to score perfectly on any user-created quiz rated average. I first played one that I had played before (it might even have been within 30 days, I am not sure). It did not work, it only worked when I played (and scored perfectly on) a quiz that I did not play before. I understand there are often limitations like not having played the quiz within the last 30 days. The wording of that challenge however suggested playing any quiz (no limitations). Maybe that needs to be changed a little to avoid confusion.

Hi, my challenge yesterday was Nemesis. When I clicked for yesterday's results at 1.15am FT time, it said not complete and the scores (which had been accruing before midnight) had gone.

I see, looking at my opponent's score for yesterday, that he won the challenge; I hope he received the credit.

He should have received the credit if you did not. After the results post, you won't see your own score from Nemesis (I've had that one a few times, and both won and lost on it).

Thanks, Dave,

I've played a lot of Nemesises (nemesi?) but that's the first time I've seen that message. Maybe I'm used to winning that particular challenge? :-)

Rumor has it that you scored 1914 points in the The Daily Game game on Apr 29 14. Beat that score today.

This is considered a medium challenge on what world? Nobody who has played today so far has even come close to that score.

You can play the Brain Twist even when the GC is closed.

I most certainly don't mind... This should be easy to complete, but if didn't think our own quizzes were supposed to appear.

Score at least 5 answers correct in one of the following Editor's Choice quizzes.
How to be Sarcastic, by Islingtonian
The Space Pumpkin, by salami_swami
You must complete 1 of the 2 remaining quizzes (5 correct in each) to win this challenge. For the purposes of this challenge, you will get challenge credit for playing these quizzes today, even if you have played them in the past.
Incomplete

I'd take Islington's quiz if I were you, oh swami of salami. I found it to be an easier quiz.

Lol. It actually didn't count to play my own quiz, in which case the bug definitely needs fixed because it makes it slightly harder. I had no choice and had to play that one for the score. wink

I played the Daily Quiz for my Medium Challenge in timed mode and got 1640. However, in the Me screen the game appears twice and on the Daily Challenge field it shows not completed. This must be a bug.

Why is Word Wizard the only game where achieving a Daily Challenge can actually damage your score? I believe that in every other game where a certain score is targeted, the objective is to achieve that score 'or better'; if the target relates to Word Wizard, you can be asked to submit a word of 'exactly' seven letters (as an example).

As you can only earn one letter per hour, if you want to achieve this particular daily target then on the day you receive this challenge, you may have to forgo the opportunity to submit a word with more letters solely to comply with this objective, thereby harming your score in the Word Wizard monthly contest.

To be in line with the other targets, couldn't it be revised to a specific number of letters 'or more'?

Dippo, you can always choose not to do the challenge. If you choose not to do it, there's no harm done, and you certainly don't get penalized for not completing challenges. I often open my challenges just to see what they are, and then leave them incomplete because I don't feel like going for them that day. No one knows when I do that except me.

Dippo, I've gotten that challenge. The first time, I made a word longer than the "exact" length asked for and got the credit.

Sometimes there is one that says a certain number of letters or more and others are the exact number required so they are both in there

The medium challenge says "at least" and the difficult challenge says "exactly". Personally, I don't care about monthly score for submitting words, even though there are some who apparently do.

One of my tasks today was to play a quiz that starts with O. I did and got all 10 correct but it didn't count. It started with "Oh. Wasn't there a discussion about quizzes starting with quotation marks not counting so Terry was going to fix it so they would?

There was such a discussion a few months ago.
Probably Terry still has it on the to do list - to me it seems an issue of low priority.

Today I bought a challenge and got an Epic, "Perfect Day II." One of my tasks is to complete two International games in the same hour, scoring at least seven correct in each. That's pretty easy. I played, but neither of my scores registered, and I can play the games over and over without the scores registering. I'd hate to lose an Epic due to a computer glitch.

This might be a browser issue - there is a thread devoted to it somewhere. Try a different one if you can, as this might be all that's needed.

Thanks, Rossian. I downloaded Firefox and played on that browser and it worked. I now have all my double Epics, and need four "triples" to finish them all.

Daver, could you please help with my green flag? I've gotten it twice and failed it... Twice. And whichever color I am also missing I got once and failed it too. Lol.

Well done on those achievements of epic proportions. smile
