Lovely irises, and so many! What should be the collective noun for irises? A richesse, perhaps?

Congratulations on the Roll of Honour, Christina; I love the poppies you put up there. A pride of poppies? A host? The photo is heavenly anyway.

Thanks Chavs. I think richesse would be a great noun for irisis, as far as I can see they don't actually have one at the moment, so you just invented it!

Thanks for the compliment on the poppies. We'd been to a horse show and came out on a private road, came round the corner and there they were. Couldn't even see them from the normal road. I sort of screeched the car to a halt and leapt out with the camera. Sad thing was the number of people who just drove past hardly looking at them.

Love the blue bottle - I actually thought Sarsparilla only existed in old western movies.

Aptly named Playa Azul. The "happy blues" of Cozumel. The definitive cure for SAD.

Thank you Ren so much for the warm welcome. I'm honoured to be part of such a talented, creative and witty group. I think it will be a lot of fun. I've been browsing pictures here for most of the day and can't begin to tell you how much I thoroughly enjoy seeing the world through the eyes of artistic people who actually 'see' the world. Thank you all for sharing.

Absolutely! Or is that Absolut? giggles and salude (no matter if it's just water we're toasting with)

Yes, welcome mantequilo! I look forward to more photos.

Don't be confused when you don't see the color blue anywhere in this photo, but this is my neighbor's other dog and, you guessed it, his name is Blue. He's about 15 years old, mostly blind, but a wonderfully sweet boy.

Welcome to the photos, mantequillo!

Awww, another ACD Clara! No surprise he is 15- they can live for a really long time. In fact, the oldest known domesticated dog was an Australian Cattle Dog- his name was Bluey and he lived to the age of 29 1/2. He died in 1939.

Some sailing boats on the river (the water is the blue part, and the sky).

Okay, this is the "bluest" pic I could find... sorry it's another water-related one..

Sorry Chavs I don't. There's a place near us with a big free flying walk through butterfly house and this was taken about a year ago. They have got identification boards up but I don't remember what this one was.
