I am trying to complete the Medium task - "Use Quiz game mode to score 2561 pts in Hobbies, Music and For Children". I have played 2 quizzes in the Music section today but it has not credited me in the challenge, only on my daily points total.

Are you sure you're playing the "game" mode, not "flash" mode? When you go to a quiz, you should be clicking "Play: Quiz Game".

Mehaul's seems very stretched out to me. For example, the "We did it" thank you is two lines on his, while on mine and Flopsy's it is three lines. Mine seems much more compressed. Maybe that is part of the issue.

My page looks just like flopsymopsy's. At least from what I can tell from the screen shot she posted.

Rap up that autowrap and rap a head with it. Javawrapanewey might erupt this gift season, you watch! Predicted here First.
No, auto-wrap should still present all the text, I think, displacing, not deleting some of it

Totally unrelated question, but while it's being brought up.

Do these hourly mixed quizzes count towards my quiz play statistics, and the chart on my profile?

On topic, now.
Booklover, I have that challenge as well, and I've had no problems. I had People, Celebrities, and For Children, and less points total, but they all counted like they should of.

I thought it might be an IE display issue but when I tried it in IE it worked fine. What version of IE are you using? (And if it's anything less than v10 don't use it, there are huge security issues with previous versions.)

Mehaul, your screen resolution doesn't look proportional, it must give you a very skewed view of a lot of websites.

Try now. Fixed a bug with the image of that quiz. Funny how I'm running into lots of really ancient bugs as people explore the far reaches of the site with these challenges.

Actually, it's even weirder - postie and mehaul still see something resembling the old homepage design with the rectangular boxes (no rounded corners).

Could this be a style sheet issue? Postie's browser status bar says "Done, but with errors on page", so I could imagine a CSS incompatibility with some specific IE version.

So weird...

This is because mehaul has pull-downs menus on, and you probably have them off.

Thanks from me and, if I may presume, the others who didn't even know we were missing something.

It says I completed my epic, but no flag?

Edit because I'm impatient: Sorry... I see it now. Just so excited, that I lost my patience! crazy

One of my teammates (who is not a regular visitor here in "the Strand") got this challenge today:

Point scramble! Use Quiz Game mode to score 2895 points taking player quizzes in each of the following categories: Religion, Music, General

Does this mean that she needs to get at least 2895 in total by playing in only those three categories? Or does she need to get at least 2895 in EACH of the three categories, for a total of a least 2895x3=8685?

(and yes I realise that the answer could be found out by actually playing it and if it doesn't show complete after the first 2895+ points, then keep on going lol - but perhaps the wording could be slightly more explicit please? It's quite a difference in time commitment/planning if you don't know for certain at the onset).

Like it says, "in each of the following categories", the points given must be won for each category, so 2895+ in Religion, 2895+ in Music, and 2895+ in General. Remember that this is "Game Mode" not "Flash" or "HTML", so it's Game Points, not FT Points that count. 4 pretty good scores in each category would meet the requirements.

On a 10 point quiz, taking 5 seconds per question to answer in Game Mode, equates to a Game Point total of 950. So, 950 + 950 +950 = 2850. Great scores will get the requirement in 3 quizzes of 10 Q apiece. More average scores will get it done in 4 quizzes, assuming you can get all 10 questions correct in each quiz.

Buddy1, it is not necessary to be a Gold Member to win the Black Flag.

Well, you edited your question while I was answering you...but I'll leave my response anyway.

I appreciate your opinion, kaddarsgirl and I fully realise you're just trying to be helpful. But I have an opinion on what was "meant" by the task as well - and quite frankly, my hope for a more definitive description of the challenge at hand wasn't addressed to you : )

I originally wrote the question you answered, but I got to thinking of several reasons why I shouldn't post it. One was "am I going to ask it every time someone win a mini-badge?" and so I decided to edit my comment, so either I wouldn't be tempted to ask the question again or so people wouldn't think I was planning on asking that question every single time. Another was "perhaps it is too much", so I'll just forget it apparently forgetting that the worst that could happen was someone saying "Sorry, can't answer that. That is part of what makes this challenge epic".

By the way, just so it's clear to anyone who wants to know my original question (there might be a few who can't deduce it for the response), my question was "I hope this isn't asking too much (and if it's not and you still don't wish to answer, that's okay), but was being a gold member necessary in getting this mini-badge?"
