Never mind. This post was in error. But now I have a different problem. Minor but still.... For part of my Daily Challenge I had to take the Quiz of the Hour this is what it said regarding QoH on the DC page. Quiz of the Hour 23 100 (a credit) 100 The middle number is the score I needed, and the rightmost number is the score it says I got, but in fact I scored 75, although that was enough to earn the credit for the QoH. My Recent Scores shows what I mean: Mar 06 13 - 4:29 AM - The Better Half Immortalized - benniebenbenny - Interactive - 5 / 10

Just as a layperson, Looks like the challenge asked you to score the 100 bonus points given for the QoH. You scored them (by getting at least 5 correct) and that's what has been logged. (Why is it a problem?) ---------------- My opponent reported he won as well. So apparently a tie is a shared win? I'm interested to know this too. There was a discussion some pages back where it seemed that in the event of a tie the winner was chosen randomly. Seems like Terry has changed that to a shared win.

Apologies if this has already been asked, but it is a little disheartening to wait a long time for an Epic challenge and then to find it is one you have already achieved. <sigh> There's probably nothing I can do, other than accept the reality, but I thought I'd share my sadness.

It's not like getting one Epic stops you from getting another. You could get 4 in a row. So you got an epic instead of a difficult/medium/easy challenge, which is good, because if you complete it again, you get the double flag and 8 credits. If you don't enjoy the challenges, maybe you shouldn't do them. If finding/completing an epic is becoming a chore and isn't really fun for you, then there's nothing stopping you from avoiding the daily challenges. It shouldn't be disheartening to get the wrong epic; it should be a nice challenge to try and complete it (again).

Please try not to sound so condescending. Whether you like it or not, it can be disappointing to get the thrill of being told you've got an Epic only to discover it's one you've done before, especially when you know there are several others which would help you complete the set. I know which Epic Jabber got. It's a slog. Don't preach until you've done it yourself.

Likewise, I've only received two epics and they were the same one. It was a little disappointing to get a duplicate epic especially since that was the only one I received previously. Still, at least you can complete it, get a replacement mini-badge, and 6 (not 8, AdamM7)credits. There's both good and disappointing that can come from a duplicate epic.

I enjoy playing quizzes and the daily challenges, but I'm a busy, busy person and don't want to spend time repeating things I've already done. A bit like getting a duplicate copy of a book you already own as a birthday present, excitement followed by...oh. However, the best part of the site is being on a fantastic team. Makes up for the botheration of small irritations no end. You could have my epic challenge if you like Adam. I see you haven't completed any yet.

Of course you can my lovely, just get someone to give me an envelope to pop it in. Plus it's only 12.35pm where you are and it's 7.35pm where I am, so you'll have time to complete it.

It's not an exact repeat though, is it? -- As Buddy's said, it's more difficult than the one you've already won, and it replaces your current badgelet. Ok, fair enough, you don't have time to do it or don't particularly want to do it, but is this any more disappointing than me swapping out one impossibly difficult challenge for another I can't do - I am not bitter about wasting yesterday's mulligan, I promise.... yeah right - and what about those awful days when I'm yearning for an Epic and get an Easy that I've already completed... I could go on. It's all just part of the game, isn't it. The thrill of the gamble. And I tell myself that it means I still have the epic /win /credits to look forward to (cos once it's done, the thrill is over). Commiserations, Jabberwok, and I hope you get better luck next time.

Yup. Definitely not as bad as the time I got a difficult sports challenge.

I know which Epic Jabber got. It's a slog. Don't preach until you've done it yourself. I definitely wasn't trying to sound condescending. I don't know whether I phrased my post in a weird way or whether you read it oddly (or both), but I didn't intend to sound condescending or to try and offend anybody. Okay, so maybe you might see the word "Epic" and get excited, only to be a bit disappointed when you see you've done it before. But it doesn't mean you have to get that disheartened - it's just a game, after all, and getting a repeat epic isn't always a bad thing. If it's really "a slog", then it's still optional. I don't have a clue what epic Jabberwok got, or what it is, but I wasn't trying to "preach" to anyone - I was just trying to say that you don't have to do something if it makes you angry or depressed or unhappy. It sounded to me like Jabberwok wasn't really enjoying the challenges, but I can see from their next post that that isn't the case. I would comment on your tone, but since you seem to have misinterpreted my tone, I doubt that would be a good idea. Oh yeah, I keeping thinking it's 8. I think it used to say it was 8 credits somewhere so I got confused. But 6 credits is still good.

I didn't do it again, it was already long and boring the first time. :p Not too big a deal though, as it was just like me buying the Crystal Ball Difficult challenge - I left it and moved on. Hopefully in time we'll all get to see all of them.

The challenge doesn't exist before you visit the page the first time each day, so it didn't look for the scores. This is one of the few games that doesn't go backwards (because past data would not be sufficient to accurately adjudicate it - if you had a 978 listed there, it wouldn't know whether that was a qualifying 21.86 or a missed 22.33 seconds, so for consistency, it simply never goes backwards.) Then why not just assign times of 21.5 or 22.5 as the task instead of 21.0 or 22.0?

I'm having two problems. I can't log in on the forums on Internet Explorer. I log in and when I go to an individual forum just like that my log in is gone. I'm here now via Firefox. Problem number 2 on the Challenge today is when I finish a quiz it just spins around and doesn't go directly to my results. A couple of times I had to repeat the process. Other times I don't get to see my results but my score posts with a time that is much slower than I actually was. For example I just played history. I finished the quiz and hit send. It spins and spins and I never get to see how I did on the individual questions although my score did post with a slow time. I'm really enjoying the site and the Challenge particularly. I don't want to have to give it up.

That has happened to me today too and it is very annoying when you are going for speed in an attempt to complete a challenge.
I put it down to the awful connection due to too many other users online.
