I'll kick off this month with a photo of a 4-yard long blueberry tart, made for the village festival in St Nicolas des Biefs in the region of the Massif Central, France. (I didn't manage to photograph the 120 kilos of potatoes I helped to peel for the same festival): The heads of the two people facing towards the lens have been altered to be certain they were unrecognisable. I hope this is acceptable?

Blueberry tart - yum! I have worked in a restaurant peeling potatoes so I don't envy you that job! I took this photo outside a country pub recently. The sign struck me as particularly funny since it was a pub. I know, I'm warped.

Blueberry tart sounds wonderful. I've never had one, but I'd sure like to try. Blueberry pie is my favorite so it can't be too different, right? MG, I must be warped, too. That's hilarious! I kept waiting for the train, but it didn't show up until after I left the tracks. This is outside of Lexington, Kentucky.

Great start to the month everyone. Love the lizard and meerkats and I'd like a slice of that tart! That looks like a nice place to stay, Howie. That pub sign made menlaugh as well. Congrats on the honour Satguru (from the previous month)! Another bird for you, here's a wattlebird (a red wattlebird, to be exact). They are native to Australia and are quite common. This one flew away just as I took the shot.

Howie, how nice to know you have somewhere pleasant to stay when in London. Dan , it may be a common bird but it looks classy to me. Great start everyone.

Howie, you have just too many cars visiting your summer cottage. Great photos for the first of October everyone! Sat, your field at Pratt's Bottom looks just like this field in Lexington, Kentucky.

Isn't he/she gorgeous! Amazing colour. I'm enjoying that quite a few October photos would fit in the themed thread this month too! http://www.funtrivia.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/826363/This_month_s_Theme_is_Blue#Post826363Nice photo, Spanishliz; I passed a sumach tree today and it had just turned, the autumn colour is just so pretty, and I said "I knew I should have brought the camera..." Luckily you snapped it for me.

Wow, now that's a blue frog! The view from Aunt and Uncle's front yard in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Love the blue frog! "It's just a flesh wound!" While at the medieval festival, we watched a demonstration of how chain mail is made. The patterns were fascinating. Here's one designed to prevent flesh wounds.
