By 'in queue' do you mean awaiting editor review, awaiting fixes, or accepted and awaiting rating in the NQG, or, a combination of those statuses?

I'd love to. I don't know how to delete them, though. I thought I clicked on everything on that page and nothing seemed to say "delete question waiting..." or equivalent. When I tried to click on a single question thinking maybe a right click might allow me to do so, that didn't work, either.

Admittedly, I'm no techno-wiz, but I don't see a way to delete the questions that are waiting to be looked at by the editors.

Could you tell me how, please?

Accepted and awaiting would have no bearing on the five total.

I don't know how to delete a question at any stage, as I have never tried. I thought you knew how to do it, since you suggested that you could delete one. Can you send corrections on them while they are in the queue? If so, you might try sending a correction asking that the question be deleted to free you up for another submission. But I don't know whether an editor would tend to the corrections queue any faster than the submitted queue, so it might not work, anyway. And you could find it getting deleted in two days' time, when it won't do you any good, anyway.

Mehaul,

I'm sorry that I didn't see your message or I would have answered. The answer is that they are in the queue awaiting editor review. Edited: Actually, three are awating editor review, one is waiting editor approval after an addition, and the 5th one is waiting editor deletion until a later date. BUT, that still shows 5 in the queue. And no, I don't know which two editors are involved. One, yes, but I can't remember who the other one was. That being the case, I don't want to bother the one I know because deleting just one still wouldn't do the job. I need 2 of the bloody things gone.

That'll teach me to be so studious about making certain that I have five questions in almost all the time!!!

No, Looney, I have no idea how to do it. And no, you can't make corrections on them until after they are rated and, I believe, actually played at least once.

I don't think it's possible to make a correction while they're awaiting editor review.

Thanks for the thought, anyway. I guess I'll just lose my nine points. That thought doesn't make me happy! Particularly since, for me, it's such an easy, fun, Challenge.

I'm hoping to get at least one epic challenge, but that wasn't it. It would have been a few more points so that perhaps I could have tried for one on Tuesday, though.

Oh well...maybe I'd better never have five questions in the queue again. I try to keep five in there at all times. This time it bit me in the ............well, it did!

Again, thanks for the suggestions.

Actually, you cannot make corrections while the question is waiting for editor approval. Once it is approved, however, you may make corrections, even before it is played.

On the Question Quest page, click on "My Contributions: All Accepted Submissions". Then scroll to the question you wish to edit. Click on "I see an error - submit correction...", and then make the correction.

Right now, I have questions that were approved a month ago, but still have not been played. While they waiting to be played, some I have corrected when I thought of a better way to phrase something, or in some cases I have tried to make the i.i. less wordy.

Gracious1,

Thank you for the primer on how to make corrections prior to the questions being played.

You've confirmed that there is no way to make corrections or to delete those questions that are waiting to be looked at by an editor. So, with that confirmation and the fact it's now bedtime, I'm going to call it good and wave good-bye to my 9 points. What a shame!

My difficult item today was to obtain a funtrivia badge, and as this was the 20th difficult one, I required to get the 20-20-20 badge, I bought a new challenge, which fortunately was another difficult one where I had to play the quiz games in several subjects that I have no interest in. Therefore I just kept selecting quizzes and selecting option 1 in them all ( probably thus destroying the rating system). Anyway Ifinally amassed the required scores and got my badge.

The daily task screen though still showed that I had not completed the obtain a badge criteria. It did after I exited and refreshed the page.

Would it have been recognised had I just decided I had reached my target quiz totals and just logged out in relieve , from not having to do anymore enterainment, humantities or religious quizzes.

I didn't know where to put this -

My difficult challenge was to: "Rank 1st or 2nd in your division in an hourly game of Who's the Expert?"

Somehow - miraculously - I came 2nd. But my challenge page didn't merely say "complete", it said: "Wow, you did it! Complete"

I just wanted to say what a nice touch that was, because "wow" was just what I was thinking, lol!

Hi,

Today I have a difficult daily challenge which is to set "my daily quiz" to difficult which I did but then I got one question marked as incorrect, but this question is flawed. I have sent the following correction notice disputing the answer.

{
Music : Name the Artist : Who sang the song?
Who sings 'Stay'?
Answer:[_________](new song)

This is the second question in "my daily quiz" - level set to difficult (to fulfil my daily challenge requirements. There are many correct answer to this question without any other information an would work better if it was a multiple-choice type question or something to narrow the possibilities to one only. I answered "Sugarland" who released "Stay" in 2007.
}

So will I still miss out on completing my challenge? eek

Unfortunately we can't reset the game for you. We can't retroactively adjust scores or award challenges if a question has an error - it's just something that happens every now and then. We're trying to keep these incidents rare with our various quality control mechanisms, but we can't completely exclude them. Sorry for that.

You could however use your GM swap to exchange the failed challenge for something that will then hopefully not present any issues.

My Medium challege today was "Find five quizzes, online for over a month, that have fewer than 50 ratings. Play and rate them." Is this possible any more? So far the lowest rated quiz I've found has 66 ratings most are in three figures. Going to give this challenge a miss.

Well, there are tons, for instance if you check authors' profiles. And when I look at my list of quizzes I see one, and I'm sure other authors have lots more...fewer than 50 is easier to find than 20-50 ratings, too.

Is there a similar challenge that asks for 50-100 ratings instead of under 50 or 20-50? If not, I'll suggest it in the appropriate thread.

Ah just realised my problem, I was looking at the number of plays rather than ratings, that's the problem when you try to play when half asleep.

My third challenge was to complete the easy game in 24 seconds or less. I just completed it at 16 seconds and was not given credit.

Just mentioning this in case it's a possible solution:

If I recall correctly, it doesn't give credit immediately. I think credit for a successful try is not given until the end of the gaming hour (in the Easy Game, that would be at 10.30/11.30/12.30 etc). Edit: I didn't recall correctly.

When I get those Piece of Cake challenges, I get credit immediately. It's only when dealing with ranks that it waits until the end of the gaming hour.

It might be a stupid question, but are you sure you did actually get all 10 right in the first game? If you accidentally misclicked or answered one wrongly, it would obviously not trigger the challenge.

(I'm asking because I tend to make my most embarrassing misclicks in PoC as well - when you really, really need to be fast, such things do happen)

Today my Medium challenge was to play the Piece of Cake and get xxx number of points. My Difficult challenge was to play the Easy game in under xx seconds. I played one game and fulfilled both requirements and got immediate credit for both. Does the Easy game use both names to increase the number of possible challenges? I lucked out today.

Oh, that's a good point, ssabreman. Same with a few other games, then, too, I would assume. The "Who's the Smartest" and "Hard" games also come to mind.

That's strange, though, I think my easy game challenges usually wait until the hour is up. But there are many different easy game challenges, maybe my mind is just being muddled.

Just checked the piece of cake code... it all looks correct to me.

Perhaps the player with the problem had some issue where the challenge page was cached and was displaying incomplete even though it was? Or something like that...

Also, about the Piece of Cake, a week or two ago, I received a difficult challenge asking me to play Piece of Cake and score 10/10 under 40 seconds. Today, however, I have a challenge asking me to do the same thing, except it is medium difficulty. The only difference is that the medium one today says Easy Game instead of Piece of Cake.

superfan123, I think it has to do with how well you play the game. The worst you do the lower the score you need to beat is. I've gotten challenges where the numbers have changed based on my performance, and this seems to be what has happened to you.

In this case, this can also happen if you are a rather consistent player. The game looks at a number of randomly picked scores you played recently and then takes the one to beat based on a ranking within the sample. So if your sample contains several 40s because that's a very common score for you, both the medium and hard thresholds for that sample may be that number.
