Quizzes with the word 'impossible' or 'obscure' (or any derivative of these) in the title can only be played in HMTL and 'Play' modes, not in 'Flash' mode. I am told it is hard wired into the system. Does anyone know why???

Doesn't anybody know? I suppose it has something to do with the Mission Impossible badge, but honestly I don't see exactly what it is.

Isn't "Play" mode flash mode?

Playing in HTML mode it's a little more difficult, you don't see the correcteness of every question until end the quiz.

There are three modes. There is "Quiz Game" a/k/a Play mode, which is in Flash. There is HTML or Classic mode. Then there is Flash or Interactive mode, which is also Flash (it has the same interface as the InstaQuiz).

On the intro page of each quiz, you generally get your choice of quizzes in this order "Quiz Game", "HTML", and "Flash".

One of my quizzes has the word "obscure(d)" in the title. I noticed that one of the modes is missing, the last mode. Only Quiz Game and HTML were showing, even though in creating the quiz I had selected all three modes to be allowed.

So I asked an editor who told me that Flash (Interactive) is disabled for quizzes with the words "obscure" or "impossible" or their derivatives in the title. When I asked why, he said he didn't know and that I should inquire in the forum.

See for yourself. Any quiz with "obscure" in the title does not have the third mode enabled.

Can anyone tell me why?

It's for the badge. In the flash mode you can follow every question but in the HTML only see the answer when you submit the quiz.

But, you see every answer in Play mode, which is in Flash and available, so that explanation makes no sense.

There's no point speculating. We need to wait until an administrator who knows the reason has a chance to give an answer.

Probably because of the badge. It's the sort of thing though that the original rush on it is long over. So, if this is causing a problem, we can remove that restriction.

Is this actually causing a problem?

I don't see how it makes much difference. Flash and non-Flash modes are both available, so everyone can still play every quiz that falls into this category.

Don't know about it being a problem but it doesn't look needed any more - I would suspect it was initially put in place because of the old Flash Mode cheat that you have fixed quite a while ago...

So might as well let players choose whichever mode they prefer if it's not a major effort.

I remember play all games in the HTML mode. The Play Mode was available after.

In the Flash and Play Mode you can play 5 question and if you fail all questions, back to restart the game and complete the challenge in a little time. I think both modes the Flash and Play Mode must be locked. Only play in the HTML mode??

Joecali, this idea no longer works. If you start a quiz in Flash or Play mode and back out / restart without submitting, you will be scored a zero. Terry changed it a while ago because it was really a global issue, not one of a single challenge.
