The dog is either a Papillon or very similar.

She's a border collie, pure bred apparently. Hard to see how big she is from teh photo. I said her ears must come form a Papillon too

Copago, just how big is a sand goanna? It looks huge!

Centennial Park was the site of a quarry, the basalt (bluestone) rocks from a volcanic eruption used for the harbour came from there. These are the remains of the railway used to haul the rocks out.

Loving all the photos so far this month, so diverse in theme, colour and style! I've a fun one to share today. My son and I have just have a blast shooting paper 'peas' at each other from our (primitive) home-made pea-shooters:

I didn't want to take photos in the dark, but at the moment it isn't long before it is, and at least it is now still possible. Christmas lights in Reigate.

While in Long Beach, California last week, I saw these wooden posts from an old pier. They were just banded together and sitting near a sidewalk about a mile from the beach.

He wasn't the biggest I've ever seen but this one was a bit more than 2 feet long. the tail is probably more than half that here's a pic that will give you a bit more of an idea.

The only time I have been at Stafford Street, Timaru at any time resembling night(this was just after 9pm last Thursday after the latest museum exhibition opening). Of course it was not dark enough and had been raining....The decorations used to be much better.

Holy goanna, Batman! Guess I'll cross Oz off as a possible place to retire. =:0
