Wasn't part of the group stuck in the no-reset. My experience just now was no tick before, played a set with about a dozen others in the 60-200 level. Got a letter (argg, no X!). Got ticked.

Try clearing temporary internet files / cache.
There's really no reason I can think of why a long running game would have messed with ticks.
