This chaffinch seemed to be searching for a snack and not taking much notice of my approach though I was still far enough away not to be a big threat.

The bird here is not so easy to see, but he's there in the corner of the awning, driving Precious crazy. This was taken yesterday, but the same scenario played out today, with the bird seeming to know that the window lessened the threat. I guess it is a nice little shelter from the snow and wind.

Precious just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year, before the Canadians venture out in the snow for the evening, and hoping that everyone who is already up on New Year's Day isn't too hungover!

She is of the opinion that we have just a bit too much snow!
