I have no idea if I am tackling this correctly but I wanted to put forward the suggestions that a badge be introduced for players who reach the marvellous target of 1,000 words in Crystal Ball...Mommakat

I misread that as there was a new badge for getting 1,000 words in Crystal Ball.

Personally, if there is a badge awarded, it should be for much less (maybe between 50 and 200). Why do you think it should be so high?

Excellent idea, Mommakat, but I'd like to suggest a badge for 100 as well, and a 500 badge, and then the Grand Master of all, God help us all, reaching 1000.

It'd be a great idea for players who aren't good on the speed quizzes.

I have 100 words and stopped playing it for quite a while because it took SO long to get there, but it was a challenge and that's what FT is all about. Now I have 103 and swear every time I play that I won't ever again, lol. Mind you, it'd help if I remembered to go back for the last 5 minutes (and oh my goodness it's coming up again)

That game is as challenging as the Word Wizard 5,000. It takes forever. Not that I have that one yet.

Also a couple of badges for Quiz of the Hour? I feel sorry for it as it seems to be overlooked with badges.

A badge for 1,000 would certainly make HurricaneBill very happy and give the other 4 people with over 500 something to shoot for but I think most players would look at it as a "Yeah, sure - whatever!" badge. Badges for 100 or 200 would be more attractive and at least a little more than "theoretically attainable".

Creedy may swear she's never going to play again; I swear when someone guesses a word a half-second before I do.

I don't think CB even needs any more badges. It's already a pretty hefty diversion from trivia.

But, I admit, I'm heavily biased as it's my least favourite game on the site. :p

This idea has been tossed around before. Unfortunately, terry has already told us no more badges will be made for Crystal Ball. frown it is supposed to be a small and entertaining (for some) diversion. Not too many badges to go for, but the 1k is always nice. wink

I never expected any badges other than the first one (for winning ONE word). Anything else is a "bonus" (especially the 1000 points for winning any word). The game is fine as it is (in my opinion) but if someone wants to institute an "ultimate" badge (of some ridiculously high number) I wouldn't be 'agin it' as some people are clearly a head above the rest of us lol. Not sure I agree with "intermediate awards" though.

The Daily Challenge 50,000 badge takes a few years minimum so precedents have been set. Hurricane Bill should reach it by the end of the month (I said February last week and he's risen to the challenge), and at the current rate it may take a year or two but if we keep playing a few more will make it next. There are a few badges old and new with single figure winners but if 500 and/or 1000 it will be a pretty valuable and attainable one and open to every single member equally.
