The BBC World Service has just reported the death of Patti Page. I can remember her versions of "Tennessee Waltz" and "How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?" from my childhood. She was due to receive a lifetime achievement award at next month's Grammy ceremony.

Page also introduced another popular 50s ballad, "Old Cape Cod".
