Last night I was on FT on my iPhone and I was checking my mailbox. At some point I inadvertently hit the 'Delete All Messages' link when I wasn't looking and returned later to find my messages deleted.

Is there any way we could put one of those intermediate steps in there to avoid 'accidentally' losing mail.

Also, my apologies if I don't respond to anyone who sent me mail yesterday (I think TemptressToo sent me something, as did a few people who played my newest quiz).

That's a great idea, as it will stop someone from doing exactly what you did. frown

Kyle, it happened to me a while back...Terry was going to put in a "still want to delete?" note - not sure if he has since I don't want to take the chance of losing mine again.

He has not-- tested it about an hour ago.
This is a reminder to him then. wink

Here is a related issue. On the main Fun Trivia page in the top right corner is the box to click on Buzz, log out and several other items. I play on my iPad and often when want to check out the Buzz, I accidentally click on log out. I wonder if the log out could be moved away from those others or have a 'do you really want to log out' question. It is very easy to touch the wrong thing on an iPad with my big fingers! Thank you for your consideration on this matter.

I do the same thing on my iPad all the time. I second the idea to have an intermediate page for logging out. It would save a lot of swearing.

Ill investigate both of these tomorrow. The message delete is certainly overdue a fix.

I agree with the log out button... On the iPad, I can't get my username and password saved, either, so it's very frustrating when I have to retype the name and password when I accidentally click on log out.

And the intermediate button for deleting messages will be great, too. Two great fixes on their way. laugh

re: Ipad / logout...

My top bar goes "Terry - logout" then in a box next to that "Challenges | Buzz | Mail"

What does the bar look like for those of you who are clicking logout when pressing buzz? On my ipad logout is nowhere near Buzz?

Mine is one box with bubblesfun - logout on top and Challenges-Buzz-Mail directly below. Because they are all so close, I hit logout when I am trying to hit Mail or Buzz, probably at least half the time.

Oh, do you happen to have "pull down menus off" ?

i.e. are your menus at the top (Fun Trivia, Quizzes, Games...) just links, or are they pull down menus?

Just links. How can that be adjusted on the iPad? Please use small, non-technical words, lol.

I'll fix it. There's no reason the right hand stuff needs to be squished.

Ha, I think I will take that back until you are done testing. The first way was the best. The second didn't let me get back to the main pages from my message Board without hitting backpage multiple times.

How's it look now? I used this change as an excuse to clean up some old code.

This is not good for me. I keep my screen at half-size, and now it's actually much harder for me to use the stuff at the top. I really wish you hadn't done that, or at least provide an option to have the screen the old way. Everything is all squished up and mishmashed now, or its offscreen. I can't even reach my mail link now.

I don't think it's fair that people who use iPads and tablets have precendence over others with regard to the look and feel of the site. Each successive to the appearance of the site has actually made it more difficult for me on my laptop.

It's actually much better on my laptop screen as well as my iPad now. So, do you think that the number of people with regular laptop screens plus the number of iPad/tablet users are outnumbered by your half-size screen choice users? I would be interested in the feedback.

I don't know what the numbers are. All I know is that site is almost practically unusable to me now.

I'd show you what my half-size screen looks like, but I have nowhere to upload the image.

gracious1, I don't think that iPad and tablet users have precedence. I think Terry's trying to make it work for everyone as best as possible. For me, nothing seems to have changed anywhere.. it's all working just as well as it did before on both laptop and iPad. I'm not a techy person at all so I'll just count myself as lucky that I haven't had any of the issue people have mentioned above apart from deleting things with an accidental swipe on the iPad. blush

It was prettier on my laptop before the change, but it is much much much better on my iPad now. Won't be accidentally logging out any more...big plus!!

I think simply adding an "Are your sure" screen would have been sufficient.

Or at the very least please swap logout and mail so I can at least see the mail link.

And please make it so when I keep the screen half size, it will use the whole space. Right now, what happens is this column:

Level 112: 2552 points today
Your Daily Challenges
143 of 227 challenges complete

becomes squished to the width of the word "Challenges" forcing it to become a really tall column, andleaving huge whitespace above and below the Fun Trivia log.

And the tabs are now too widely space apart too. The "Find" tab is no longer at the end but piled under the "New" tab. And the columns are all off on the new quizzes.

It's not that it's less pretty. It's that it has become frustrating and difficult to use.

And if Terry is really interested in making this a better experience for everybody, as you say, Tizabelle, I would like to be included in "everybody" too.

Likewise.
I actually liked the top corner the way it was before on my laptop. Now it looks a bit 'boxy'.

I think that the majority use desktops or laptops. Terry's still in there tweaking things and it might take more than this past couple of hours to get things evened out on all fronts. Please be patient; he won't leave it as an inconvenience for people.

As a note, the screen hasn't changed on my laptop; not sure what settings you have for your display (resolution and such). Just noting for posterity.

Used to be that the links were right there in the top corner, easy to use, now I have to scroll over, can't even see them.

Would be better also without the blue border using up horizontal space. It doesn't change when I narrow the screen, should just go away instead of forcing the contents to pile up on one another.

As I say, this isn't about prettiness, it's about being able to use the screen. It used to be convenient, and now it is frustrating.

The names of the new quizzess are piled up and cut off, when there's actually room to fit them, it's just for some reason there are all the extra borders that won't change in size. They are needless. Just a lot of whitespace and then the content is forced into narrow columns.

Gracious, have you tried going to the Edit link on your profile page - click on "I'd like a narrower screen. Enter small-screen mode." I play on a half screen on my laptop and that has fixed things beautifully for me. Perhaps that's the issue.
