For one of my daily challenges today, I'm supposed to get a jillion points in quizzes in five different categories using the flash quiz format. Unfortunately, the flash quizzes don't seem to be working. They stick at "Loading assets" without moving, no matter how long I leave them. I've tried in both Internet Explorer and Google Chrome.

I already hate the flash quiz format, but now that I HAVE to use it and it's broken, I'm really annoyed. Can someone fix this?

EDIT: When I say the flash quizzes, I mean the timed ones. The newer kind.

I've just checked mine on a few quizzes and it's loading fine - hopefully yours is fixed now or else it must be something to do with your PC. I'm using Firefox.

It's not a universal problem - I read about the issue, then went and played a new quiz in play mode, no problems. If it's relevant, I use Firefox, too.

I can only confirm what Midget said - the games work perfectly. You may want to look at your firewall settings (could your Flash client accidentally be disallowed from loading additional network data?) and at your Flash version (to see you have a current one).

If you want to narrow down possible sources, try loading one of the quizzes you played in the past in the old Flash mode (if that works, a version issue is likely) and go to some Flash gaming site, loading up a game that also loads additional assets during play (if that fails, it's probably a firewall problem).

The funny thing is that I was playing a few of the newer flash games (for the challenge), took a break for about twenty minutes, and then came back to play some more, only to find that they didn't work anymore.

Strange - I cannot reproduce the problem. Can you give me the URLs of a few quizzes you did try so I can attempt to load the same quizzes myself (making sure things don't depend on a category or similar criterion)?

Of course it's possible that your Flash client somehow misbehaved - if for example you had a bit error in memory, your Flash DLL (which remains loaded) would be corrupt and you would need to reboot to fix it.

I just tried both those links, and could not get any further than daBomb. It just hangs at 'Loading Assets'.

Wow! The Flash game seems to hate the NFL!

It looks as if none of the quizzes in the NFL teams subcategory tree are working. Going up one more level to American Football in general does yield working quizzes. (The other NFL categories seem to work as well)

Terry will have to take a look at that one - the quizzes do work in the old Flash mode.

For your challenge, I'm afraid you will need to play something outside NFL teams.

Weird, will look into this! I suspect it's a problem with the photo for that category.

Fixed... for some reason the NFL category had a category image linked to photobucket, and the system really wasn't very happy with that.
