ClaraSue, I am enjoying your photos of Arizona too. I had a wonderful holiday there in 1984 staying with my husband's relatives who live in Tucson. We hired a car and travelled all over the state. We lived in California at the time and wanted to move because of the crime and violence in our area. I wanted to move to Arizona and my husband wanted to move to Australia, but we would have been happy with either choice. In the end we chose Australia but if we had chosen Arizona, we probably would have settled in Tucson since we have family there.

Howie, I'm going to show my horrible ignorance...are those goats or sheep? MadMartha, next time you visit your relatives in Paradise Valley and decide to drive to Tucson, I hope you give me a ring. You'd be within 3 miles of my house on your way there! MG, every time I see one of Copago's photos, the area reminds me a lot of Arizona, especially where I live. I did an aerial search of her area on Google and the terrain looks very similar. I'm still waiting for my trip to Australia; one of these days I'll make it! I think it's time for another sunset. This was last night from my driveway. (I almost said looking West. DUH!, LOL)

My guess is goats. Perhaps white kikos. Sheep horns don't grow that way (at least not in the wild in OUR country - and they're usually "docked" if domestic but if left alone would probably be quite "curly"/more circular). I've been wrong on several occasions though lol.

Oh I don't think they're Wensleydales, Wensleys look more like Old English Sheepdogs than sheep. However, Howie's photo reminds me of Wiltshire Horns, the sheep from my home county ooh aarrh, where there be more sheep than people, ooh aaarh (but no one actually talks like that, lol). Although the horn is a tiny bit different and Wiltshire Horns don't usually have quite so many curls - but who knows what they might have done with them in NZ, one hears such tales! Howie, go back and get them to stand up, the only way to tell sheep from goats is the body shape. Or offer one a shoe to eat - if it's a goat, it will eat it.

I've been to Dickie's house once but he wasn't there but did use the toilet if that counts for anything, as his wife let me in to deliver a parcel. The playing fields at Gladstone Park not far from here

Flopsy: you're hilarious Howie: Perhaps these are your friends: demonic poodles (umm ... that wasn't the actual name of the link lol) Those last ones are definitely in the moo family (I'm sure Mr. Linnaeus is rolling in his grave about now)

I'm pretty sure that's Newport, Monmouthshire. It's the third largest city in Wales and has various suburbs creeping out along the valleys. I've got a feeling that the middle of your picture shows the River Usk but I'll happily defer to a Welsh person because what do I know of darkest Wales? (Not much is the answer to that question, lol.)

My contribution to the recent wonderful sunset shots... Taken while snorkeling in the harbor on Heron Island - that's my excuse for the non-horizontal horizon! The old ship in mid-ground was scuttled to form a breakwater. Can I recommend Picasa3, the freebie program, there is a straighten feature which I use before uploading to Photobucket.

Actually in this particular case (and heaven knows I usually scream at my laptop when I see water that isn't level) I think it's a better picture left as it is. I just straightened it in Photoshop and it looks just like any other picture taken across water, maybe from a boat, bit of a swell, sunset, old ship... nice pic but not incredible. Sorry Mike. But as it is now, water tilted alarmingly, and knowing that it was taken by someone snorkeling, it's an action photo. I still want to scream at my laptop but this time I'm screaming "Whoa Mike, that's amazing! Oh heavens I feel seasick!" - whole different effect. Now, where are my Kwells?
