English Rugby League The first round kicks off on February 1st, so get your name down. ------------------------------------- The rules:- Pick a winner and score a point.
- Pick a draw and score a point (draws are very rare).
- Default is equal to the wooden spoon score.
- Final placings will be decided on HoF/WS differential and then, if required, total HoF awards.
- One bonus point for perfect score.
--------------------------------------- In 2012, George95 just fell over the line after leading all season. Srini701 had great tips in the final two weeks, only to lose by a single point. PaulE was third. Srini701 has a good record in this comp; he won in 2008 and 2009, second in 2012 and third in 2011. PaulE won in 2011, second in 2009 and 2010 and third last year. gtho4 won in 2010, and was runner-up in 2007 and 2008. Can these three gents keep the pressure on, or is it time for a new face on the podium? Will George95 defend his title? Time will tell... The tipping thread for the first round is up!

Welcome to Super League 2013, where most people got off to a good start.
George95 only missed the shock result of Huddersfield flogging St Helens. Some bonehead, who shall remain nameless, tried to go for an upset (or six), and managed a golden wood in Week 1. It is going to be a loooong season.

The top four players all picked the same and scored a HoF for their efforts. Sypher also scored 5/7 and moved up a bit.
The draw between Wigan and Warrington and the upset win by Castleford over Leeds precluded any chance of a perfect round. George95 retained his one point gap at the top.
PaulE and dg_dave both scored 3/5 and picked up the spoons this week.

I have written a stern letter to the Super League demanding that they stop playing drawn games, because people will confuse them with soccer! Three draws in four weeks is insane.
BxBarracuda added another HoF to his streak, and has broken away to a handy lead. Second place is crowded with four players tied- two more are just behind looking for an opening.
N-Bomb scored his first HoF and illiniman14 took home the cutlery this week.

The star this week is wwe84 who tipped two games solo. This gave him 5/7, two points more than anyone else, and he ascended at a rate of knots into equal third.
With all the upsets this week, points were going to be hard to come by, and there wwere five spooners, all with 2/5.
dg_dave went for a cheeky draw, and it almost worked. Catalan required a field goal and a late try to break a tied score.

The match between Wakefield and Leeds was postponed from Friday to Sunday because of snow. It was then postponed again for the same reason. No date has yet been set for the fixture.
Draws are so commonplace in this comp that I will not even mention this week's.
BxBarracuda has opene up a nice early break by being one of a whole swag of HoF winners. The two Georges both spooned and let the rest of the field catch up to them.

Because of the short turn-around between rounds over the Easter weekend, two rounds were combined as Weeks 9 and 9a. Back to normal next weekend.
The first seven games produced some extraordinary results, with Salford and Widnes toppling much higher rated teams. Leeds and Bradford kept up the stupidity, too. A combined total of 34 correct tips.
The second seven games were much more logical, with three teams breaking the 50-point barrier. Wigan scored at better than a point a minute, by demolishing Hull KR. We doubled our tipping success rate, with 68 from 84 (almost 81%!).
With the amount of games, it was surprising to see such a small range of tipping scores. 10/14 was a HoF score, and three players got the gong- George95, Sypher and PaulE. The Spoon score was only three points lower, at 7/10. Three players again got the cutlery- BxBarracuda, wwe84 and N-Bomb.
As a consequence of all that, BxBarracuda had his lead reduced to a single point over George95. The other two HoF-ers moved up a couple of spots, too.

We doubled our tipping success rate, with 68 from 84 (almost 81%!) Probably because I didn't get a chance to tip...we'd have been below 70% at the rate I tip in this lol.
