I finally took a new picture! It's been a cold week where we've been and have hit a few snowstorms. This is a mountain cut next to the Interstate in northern West Virginia. Luckily the ice hasn't come down to the road.

A traditional British town, still many like it almost unchanged for hundreds of years. The first time I went to Twyford I was disappointed there was no toilet factory, having used one at home for ages. It turned out they were made by Thomas Twyford in Stoke. You can't win them all...

A friendly little visitor last night, walked across the lawn and through the mess of a garden to say hello as I was trying to photograph the full moon (moon photo tomorrow)

This is the base of a Sycamore tree in our garden, with a ring of large suckers round it. The flowers are Snowdrops and Winter Aconites.

Love your visitor Howie! The flowers are lovely, too, but I'm afraid this is more typical of the end of February hereabouts. (Taken without flash, out my front window at 10:30 pm, about an hour ago.)

Oh dear, that's a bit depressing, Liz, but as Percy Shelley so wisely said
"If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?"
We were taught at school that he was double wise in saying this as the phrase cannot be reversed....(duh?)

That is lovely! Not to be depressing or anything, I thought to post just one more whilst it is still the last day of Feb. here. This was taken out the same window about half an hour ago (8:30 a.m.). That thick white line bisecting the window of the house across the road is a snow-covered power line!



(It is all actually rather pretty, and we know it will soon be gone, so less depressing than you might think )
