The solar calendar (I think) at Frogner Park in Oslo along with The Monolith (at approx 14m tall). The Monolith comprises 121 human figures rising towards the sky, supposedly representing manís desire to become closer with the spiritual and divine.

I may get one more photo posted before I had to the north Island for 3 weeks, hopefully take a few photos of New Zealand while I am away....something for you all to 'look forward' to. smile

It has been quite wet with some heavy showers but since they have eased off, it has been fairly windy. This has dried the vegetation out but there are still plenty of big puddles around once you get off the beaten track.

Pretty dry here apart from the odd day the last few weeks, and this evening when I nearly went for a walk. But we had enough rain before that to make up for it.

Here's a typical one of my photos for the Geograph Ordnance Survey project. Before then I took nice and interesting views, now I take where I am because that's what they want to have as an archive. So here's a picture representing the centre of Maidstone.

They're beautiful, Christina!

Another "that time of the year" pic. ANZAC Day today and as usual we went to White CLiffs for the march and service. There was a riderless horse there this year which was a really nice touch.

The photo of the Oslo Museum is not the best so instead we shall walk from Frogner Park down to the waterfront at Oslo Fjord. I do not know the name of this marina but it is next to where the ferry to Kiel leaves from.

No I haven't Sue. I don't know why it would have grown this way. Not had one like it before in the garden. I'm not too worried providing it doesn't uproot itself and start making its way towards the house! shocked

That's a good idea! The vacuum cleaner is usually reserved for the dandelions and their seeds of course but I'm sure it would deter a rogue daisy as well. smile

If it gets to six foot tall and the petals turn into white tentacles then be afraid, be very afraid! I'm going to go and check my daisies.

I like the daisies, I got some five leafed clovers in the 70s and planted them in the garden, my father weeded them out a week or two later before I could contact Kew Gardens. I got him to drive me 50 miles near Cambridge to get some more from where I found them, but it was a football pitch and they were still playing. We had to wait till they finished and then none appeared to be there only a few weeks after there were hundreds. I'd send that picture to Kew and they can tell you the details.

The A20 near Ashford

Those daisies are amazing!

This pigeon didn't move a muscle, even when I walked fairly close to him as he perched on this wall overlooking the river. The water is quite high, but has apparently peaked and not in danger of flooding.

The log cabin on the other side of the river is genuine, and now used as the local tourist info centre.

[edited to add note about log cabin]

Love the eagles.

Another tulip - I have a big group of these almost out, another couple of days they should be looking good.

All the photos from everyone have been amazing. Am particularly interested in tellyw's camera. I haven't checked the "what cam am I using" (or whatever it's called lol) thread lately, so if you haven't posted there yet, could you do a "review"? : )

All very good photos. Satguru's are always interesting because they give a fair idea of what ordinary England is like away from the places that might be visited as a tourist.

The tulip looks very detailed.

Are those eagles a danger to the lambs?

Nice of the pigeon to be so obliging.

I'll write a bit about the camera in the 'My Camera' thread soon Jakeroo. Plus post a link to a very detailed review of it.

At the risk of being boring, I must post another 'mutant daisy' photo because I'll swear it's actually grinning at me now. smile

It does look like it I agree. Just how far away is your nearest secret nuclear weapons testing establishment?

I really love it Martin, I wonder what would happen if you save seed from that one and grow some.
