Welcome to the new month! Surely May is going to mean brighter skies and some warmth.

Not Down Here it doesn't (however, who knows? - we just had the warmest April on record).

It's been sunny for a couple of weeks here, but apart from last Thursday pretty cold, although today's picked up at last. Here's a random shot from my travels, Pembury in Kent.

We had a wonderfully sunny day today for May Day, and the spring blossom is looking magnificent. Being late because of the awful weather seems to have done it good.

Great shot! Beautiful blossoms!

The local grocery store has acknowledged the return of the sunshine, and the arrival of spring by setting up a barbecue condiments display. I was amused to see barbecue sauce done up to look like Canadian Club rye whiskey!

Must be the latest trend. Down here, Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey has a barbecue sauce.

I bought some of that last year. A big disappointment - it was thin, watery and very vinegary. Nobody would eat it so I ended up throwing it out.

A train passes Wimbledon Park. One every minute on average, far more than on the other lines I've used.

What a great photo that heron is - how lucky to get one posing like that as you were going by.

I found these bluebells in bud this morning

It's been lovely and sunny today and it gets awfully hot in my room. This is the view from my room at work.

There certainly are worse views from workplaces Dot! How lovely to look out on that.

So, ren, are you going to wander down to the Hong Kong harbour with your camera and take a picture of the giant rubber duck?

I would but it is pouring and has done on and off for days! Everyone is very excited about it and there are special boat trips to see it. You would be in your element!I will take a picture of my very special duck instead. Watch this space.

Yes it is lovely and I really do appreciate it when I get a chance to look out of the window. It was a totally different scene a few weeks ago when the sky was overcast as you can see in this picture. (Sorry about the reflection)

I much prefer the sunny day view, Dot! Lovely ducky smile and beautiful tulips. Great shot of the heron!

The sun is definitely shining here today, and I stopped during my walk to relax on a bench just like these.

I am going on a junk trip to Lamma island next week end , for a friend's birthday, so I will take a shot of the real ducky if I can see across the harbour for rain.
Lovely tulips and a lot of great photos already!

Amazing view Dot, I have one of the view from one of my offices, a lorry park and more portakabins. I had a bus stop and zebra crossing at the last one for some years as well. Not quite the same...

Kent is called the garden of England for good reason

The blossom is really densely packed on the branches this year.
