What are the odds of getting an EPIC daily challenge twice in one day?

I'm not sure we have the odds of getting one in a day, let alone two.

Speaking of which, working on one right now.

I don't know any exact odds, but I did over the weekend! I was surprised.

Oh nonononono. I haven't gotten two yet. I've gotten one EPIC today (which is still exciting), and I'm nearly finished, and I'll have enough to buy a second challenge, and I was wondering if I should spend the credits or just save it for tomorrow when it will be cheaper.

I'm guessing the odds of getting a second EPIC in a day are pretty astronomical by your reactions, so maybe I should save my credits.

The second epic wouldn't be more or less probable than with any other one buy. It doesn't remember when you last got one.

I'm not so sure there isn't some sentience lurking in the background somewhere...

Am I correct in presuming that if you are lucky enough get an Epic Challenge, then the actual Challenge you get is allocated completely randomly?

The reason for my question is that I've managed to buy 4 Epic Challenges over the last 4-5 months. Three of those four have been Quizzer III. Not wanting to spoil anyone's surprise if and when they get this one, but it is REALLY tough. I've failed at it three times. Does that mean I'm on high rotation to get this again until I'm successful, or have I just been really unlucky??

I guess I have been fortunate, then. I had three in quick succession not long after the badgelets were coined, then a rather large gap. Over the last couple of weeks, I got two more. All five were different, and not one of them was the Quizzer III of which you speak. smile

Is there any chance of increasing the odds of epics relative to how many challenges you've completed?

I got 1 in 5 months of gold membership last year, and shortly after it ran out got 6 more over the course of a month. I found that to be... unusual.

You're just very unlucky. It is completely random which epic you get. The game doesn't assign the level of the challenge and then pick from a pool of challenges at that level. It picks the challenge (any difficulty) from the large pool of challenges, and you get whichever random challenge it is. That is just rotten luck that on four occasions of purchasing a challenge you randomly (out of the dozens and dozens of possibilities) drew the exact same challenge...the Quizzer Epic.

Aha! I'm glad someone else gets pestered by that particular one too, I'd wondered if it had singled me out to stalk! laugh

(That's the same one we discussed before, Kaddarsgirl, that I said felt like a bit of a hit, and certainly didn't feel like re-playing just for a few credits. smile )

Yes it is really tough. Mine was Quizzer II. And I misjudged how much time I needed, so my question posted here was actually moot b/c I didn't get the credits after all.

I've gotten 2 Epics since November; couldn't do the one in November because it required Flash and my phone doesn't support Flash, and the other a couple of months ago, I believe.

I find it weird that some people have to wait months in getting one while others get them all the time.

The second time I went for the "Ten in a Day" Daily Challenge, I did wonder if I would get an Epic. No such luck

Me and my bigmouth!

Guess who got an Epic today? Guess who has no chance of winning? Guess who is off to play the Chain Games instead of playing quizzes?

Now that I've got the Buccaneer Badge, I only buy additional games in the hope of getting an Epic. And I only do that when I know I'll have plenty of time to complete one.

As a result, I often go several days without buying one, and am now slowly building up an excessively large stock of credits!

Anyone want to buy some?

^I think I once got up to 172 credits. Now I'm less than 15.

Yes! I have 5 credits. Still haven't managed ten in a day.

The "buy credits" option is available at a conversion rate of 1 credit to 1 credit. Just kidding, of course.

I'd gladly buy yours, Jan... 100 points per credit sound good?
