I just left a group because it was boring me and I was going to join another group but decided to create my own, and did, and just to state first: I'm on an iPhone, so when I went to upload a picture I hit some button, don't know what, on my phone and it took me to my page where it list all the badges I earned etc., and above my avatar it says the group I created and on the right it says I'm in a whole other group called "we are the saints", I think which is "invite only" and I'm not actually in it.

So, I tried to remove myself from my group to get out of this weird thing, didn't work, then tried to disband, didn't work and now I'm here.

So, if this is how it's going to be on a phone, I'd rather just have the group deleted, if possible and I'll just look for a group to join.

If I had to guess I think it's because I have to exit mobile just to find the area where you do all this, and when going to another page it puts me back into a warped version of mobile even though it says I'm still exited out.

I don't know, a wild guess.

Oh, just to add: when I click on "my group" link it takes me to the "saint" group. So, I don't know if my group is actually there, or not, it just all baffling to me at the moment.

When I go to your Profile page (the one where all your badges are listed) I also see you as being assigned to two groups. Above your avatar it is your Poets group and in the place for team membership it says the Saints. If I go to that saints team page and click "Who's on", it list you as logging on in that team just before 5AM FT time. I see this with a PC and I do not run a mobile device.

I'm not an admin, but out of curiosity, did you get a Group number assigned to your Poet's Group?

I have no idea. This is the first time I attempted to do this. I'm getting a desktop at the end of the year, I should have waited.

At this point I just want out.

"we are the saints" is showing on your page, but you are NOT showing as a member of that team. What is the name of the team and its number, the one that you set up?

I recently set up my own team, just so I can play the Dailies while I find the right team for me. I set it to "Invite", but have had no applications!

About a year ago there were supposedly some new rules instituted regarding team changing. If you were a recent signee to the saints and have left them after a short time period, it may be why you have some block on opening a new team. And maybe not...

The only two teams I have been a member of (besides the one I just created) is East Coast Players, and Atheist Quizzers; I don't remember being in any other teams. I joined AQ back in 2009, I believe. I may have joined in 2003 but I've really only been a member since 2009.

Maybe it takes a housekeeping cycle for things to settle straight? If you did your new team establishment around today's maintenance off time, it may have put a jimmy in the works.

I can't explain that. I've never been invited to a group, and it's invite only. And I don't see me joining a "saints" group whether a religious/sports reference. Not into either subjects.

Will check this out shortly. Looks like something wacky happened in team creation.

Please don't try doing anything else adding/removing yourself from teams for now.

Terry,

the saints group ID is 32767 - max for a signed 16-bit!

Do we perchance have a value overflow issue here that reduces the IDs beyond 32768 to 32767?

Edit: Indeed - the issue appears for all members of teams with ID greater than 32767, whether team founders or not. See http://www.funtrivia.com/profile/lovey223.html (from team ID #32768).

How peculiar.

Wait, we've had almost 33,000 teams created? Wow. :P

Wow, that's precisely what happened.

The group was created fine. But in the user record, it tried to set the relational link to a greater number and so stuck at 32767.

I guess I never imagined there being anywhere near 32000 teams 10 years ago, lol.

What I'll have to do is increase the size of that then kick everyone in team 32767 out of that team.

Haha, so, similar to what happened with Word Wizard that one time? It was set up to a certain number that seemed impossible to reach and very in the distance... Then it is reached, and we all freak out. :P

Good this didn't last over month's end - the saints team would have been stuck in medium league or even large because all members with team ID > 326767 were credited to it as well. A team of really 5, they're listed with 41 active out of 64. Ouch smile
