I have a set of almost identical photos of Stratford from 1969, although they weren't quite as well taken. It was my first colour film on a school trip.

After a slow start due to cold and wet weather the recent hot spell has the vegetable garden going well. Today's pick of beans and peas.

Maynooth is a real cheese freak so I showed him your photograph. I could hear his arteries hardening as he viewed it.

I've never been there ren, but your photos of it are so lovely I think I really must make the effort.

I'm really enjoying the wonderful variety of pictures folks, thanks!

Ren, thanks for including the website for Highnam Court as I found it most interesting. When I vist England I go to Gloucestershire as my sister lives in Nailsworth, but I've not been to Highnam. Maybe next time!

I have often heard people (usually on sports broadcasts) talking about how great a Philly Cheese Steak is, so I had to try one. I wasn't in Philadelphia, but Gettysburg is not too far away, so I went for it!

It was good, very filling. Worst part was me getting tongue twisted when ordering, asking for a 'chilly pheese steak'...

About to sail through the entrance to Tory Channel (or the exit in this case) and out into Cook Strait which can get very rough. In recent weeks 11 to 12 metre swells have cancelled ferry crossings but luckily it was quite calm for me, just a slight chop as the northwest wind strengthened a little. It was even calmer on the return trip. That is the North Island in the background.
