Honeymoon over my Hammy in Vegas - Fri Apr 05 2013 02:51 PM

Only in Vegas! Denny's plans to build a Denny's equipped with a wedding chapel. You can get married, then have your reception complete with a Grand Slam Breakfast!

Are you asking someone "special" to go and experience this with you? It would certainly take a special person to look back fondly on that wedding memory. Is it Boysenberry Syrup for the third anniversary or is that the Whipped Butter one? Do the starched fabric flowers on the tables serve as the bridal bouquet? I foresee a nickname for the event: A Vow and Chow. (I'd avoid the Rice Pudding if I were you!)

I'm more of a chicken fired steak and eggs kind of a guy. With hash browns, wheat toast, OJ, soda. If coffee, two creams, two sugars. That being said, there's a place about four, five blocks from my house which kicks Denney's butt. 11-Worth Café on 25th and Leavenworth. It used to be a 24-7 place until the owners finally decided there were too many seedy types. It's in a run-down area of town. The bar across the street had a stabbing death about 10 years ago. Great grub though. I also recommend the #10. It's called the Robert E. Lee. It's two biscuits and gravy with sausage gravy and a sausage patty in each biscuit. If memory serves, it also comes with 2 eggs. Yum!

Perhaps they will add being able to order a partner to the menu.

Is Denny ordained? Did they have a napkin ring bearer? Did the bride wear chef's whites? Did......whew, this valium is really kicking in.

Do the couple squash pancakes in each other's faces?
Won't they kick out the Jewish couples for smashing the glassware?
Will the organist only play musak?
Can you ask for separate checks or are you buying a round for the house?
Will some guys try to fool the gals by going to International House of Pancakes (IHoP) and slipping a twenty to the chef to act as minister?
Will IHoP open a quickie divorce operation where the couple sits in different sections ala smoking/non-smoking?
Does the wait staff dress as Elvis?
Would it be a drive-through? "You are now husband and... please move to the next window for your complimentary Grand Slam."

Oh, that crazy Clark County!

Guests get 20% off of their bill. For $95you can reserve a space, get a Pancake Puppy cake, and a bottle of bubbly. It's a pretty good deal when you consider how expensive weddings are.

I think the wedding has to provide their own minister though.

Well, that's it then. If I have to provide my own minister I'm not going.

Didn't Macdonalds do this a while ago?

I dunno. Maybe if it was in Vegas. Personally, I think a person should be able to get married in a grocery store if need be. Or a mall. Wedding chapels in malls! Who's with me?!

The registry office in Oxford used to be over the shopping mall.
I attended a friend's wedding there when I was 18, the registrar tried to marry me to the best man as we were the only two that looked as if we'd had a proper wash.
The wedding reception was an Indian takeaway in the park.
Happy days!
