Joyful Greetings

Hello, everyone. I am visually impaired, and I am a singer, songwriter and musician. My favorite kinds of music are Gospel, Country and Pop. I enjoy studying Astronomy, Animals, Mythology, Physics, Animals, flower, name and color meanings, and more. I was born with only one eye, and I could only see colors, light, and enough to get around. I could watch TV if I sat very close to it. Because I couldn't see well enough to read any kind of print, I learned to read braille. When I was a teenager, Glaucoma took what sight I had, so I had to learn even more about new ways to see.
My computer has a voice program that only reads text, but not pictures. I use the left, right, up and down arrow keys to read the text, and this takes time. I still enjoy playing the timed quizzes over here though.

I have played over 100 quizzes, and enjoyed every one of them. I am getting ready to create my first quiz, and found a link in Author Central that led me here. Being an administrator and moderator, I went to find the rules of the forum, and I read all the stickys at the top of this forum. Oops,! I shouldn't have told you I am an admin and mod. Now the staff might be keeping a closer eye on me. Lol!

I didn't join Fun Trivia to spam. I joined to play quizzes and games, and to have fun. I would love to make some new friends along the way. I enjoy PMing and reading replies to my messages. I look forward to meeting and talking with all of you here.

Welcome Joy, that's a very interesting story and you will certainly bring a lot of fascinating topics here once you get going in the forums. I have just celebrated my 12th birthday here and still at least as much to do (a lot more quiz wise) than when I first arrived.

Coming from a similar situation, I have learned to live with the time penalties and to enjoy the things that can be realized by attending the site. Do you use a magnifier to read other things? I am interested in "The Big C" line of hand held microscopes. Do you have any experience in this regard?
Anyway, welcome to the forums. The forum profile page has a special box where you enter what you want your signature to be (limit 250 characters). It is easy to miss.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I am totally blind, so I have no use for magnifiers of any kind. Sorry I can't help.
