Quote:
''I know I've given cricket my all,'' said Ponting, who turns 38 in three weeks. ''It's been my life for 20 years. There is not much more that I can give.''

Fair call. smile

Yep...One Australian cricketer I (and I am sure, most Indians) loved to hate! for his never-say-die spirit and ever willingness to fight smile He was a terific batsman and easily among the 3 best in the last 20 years....he will be missed, but at least he knew when to move on *sigh*

He's in for his last innings.
Very classy of the Saffers to have a guard of honour for Ponting. I have never seen that before from an opposing team .. is it common? Or the cynic in me thinks perhaps it is to unsettle him a bit more?

And he's out on 8. Awww.

And to answer my own question someone just told me that the Poms did it for Justin Langer in the 05/06 Ashes.

Bummer. He only made 8 runs, but he is still a bloody good batsman- one of the very best!
