Point badges over 50k

Why are there no point badges over the one at 50k, as I'm approaching a million? Just curious. It would be a nice award for some who don't play a whole lot. I think it's taken me 5 years or more.

There are such badges - 100k, 250k, 500k and a million. They just replace the previous grade instead of giving you an extra level (since you do get a level for passing the point barrier anyway).

A new badge over 5M or 10M? With a level-up?

The 1M it's short for many active members.

Perhaps a megabadge for 10 million would be appropriate, but I don't suppose that more point badges would be a big priority (despite 10 million being a massive, amazing and commendable effort!)?

Also, the 50k is a "bonus point" badge, which is not figured into Wes's post. Those are "point duke," "point king," and "point god."

I see no such "50k bonus point" badge. I know we once had a 20k bonus point badge, but it was incorporated into just a 20k regular point badge. What is the 50k bonus point badge you speak of? I cannot recall there being one...

Point Apprentice is 50k points.

There is no 50k bonus badge. The old bonus badge (which existed in the 20k and 50k variants) was folded into the 20,000 badge (so that no one would lose a level when the badge was retired) and the Apprentice - Duke - Prince - King - God series starts at 50,000 (and was like that from the start).

I always thought there should be a Categories Point Badge. Meaning, say one obtained 50,000 points in Animals, then 50,000 points in Humanities, then Movies, Television, Literature, etc., etc.,

That, in of itself, may take awhile to get but what honor that would bestow on those who were able to obtain it. Some would probably get it quicker than others, it'd take me years since Sci/Tech, Animals, and Video Games are more of my poorest areas. Maybe even Literature but it's not that I don't know Literature, I just don't read anything contemporary unless biographical or historical.

It's sort of a branch of the 24 hr mini-badges for particular categories.

The only category, at the moment, I would qualify for would be Movies, since I have 94,090 points in that category (as of Dec 03). My least is Video Games at 1,400 points (as of Dec 03). It's a challenge that would get people more active, perhaps, in the categories that they aren't normally too active in anyway.
