I'm sure I mentioned this in a thread a while ago but nothing came of it, but I wondered if in the new quiz play mode, there could be some sort of marker that a question will be fill in the blank before the box pops up to put the answer in? It's usually quite a surprise otherwise, as I'm expecting multiple choice. I just thought it made sense as the mode is time-based. smile

Bumping this thread in the hope it's a good enough idea to be put in smile

I agree. The other day, I had one that wanted two *full* names, with 'and' in between. That's five words, with barely enough time to realize it's a fill in, much less type the dang thing.

Was it taken out? I distinctly remember when Terry first showed us the Quiz Game format that there was a prompt screen that said something like "Get ready! The next question is Fill-in-the-Blank" and displayed for several seconds before the question was revealed. I prefer the HTML format, though, so I haven't played the Quiz Game since it was brand new and I can't check now from my phone.

I don't know about the regular quizzes, but in the six rotating quizzes on the home page, there are no warnings.

I played some regular quizzes yesterday and didn't have any prompts.

I just played one of my quizzes in the Quiz Game format, and you're right - there's no prompt before the FITB questions. That would be handy to know ahead of time.

I don't mind there not being a prompt. Isn't it prompt enough when you see no answers and instead you see a bar with a cursor blinking in it? wink

Or maybe that's just me who doesn't mind. wink

Well, it's a nuisance when you don't have two hands poised over the keyboard! :P

I suppose, but does it really take up that much time to get them over there? wink

In some of the positions I play quizzes in! Sometimes I'll sit on one hand, or be leaning back. I just thought it wouldn't be too much of a big deal to put on the beginning of the question "Fill In The Blank" such as is done for "True or False" in the Flash mode? smile

You sit on your hand to play? Haha, sorry, that tickled me. smile

No, you're right, it wouldn't be too much to ask. I would imagine it's quite an easy thing to add to it. Hopefully Terry reads this. smile

Haha, it's probably worded a bit strangely - I often sit with my hands behind my knees, so under my leg. smile
