We're all done, the marathon is over. Dizart won the gold medal by a comfortable 16½ points .. and that's with one wooden spoon back in week 9 when he picked 0/12! PaulE collects silver and gtho4 picks up bronze on a countback from paper-aero (+2 vs. -1).
Dizart was leader for 36 consecutive weeks, a streak which has been exceeded just once over the 13 yrs we've been running these comps here at FT. The all-time record is 39 weeks straight set by Copago in the FAPL comp in the 2001-02 season.
The last week of the season saw KrivoyRog score a weekly win with picks of 7/12 .. last week he collected a wooden spoon with 0/12! He finished the season ranked #4 for weekly wins, #4 for wooden spoons, and #4 for bonus picks! You work that one out .. ozzz202, dg-dave and wwe84 were ranked #1, #2 and #3 for wooden spoons collected during the season. They were also ranked #1, #2 and #3 for bonus picks!
paper_aero scored the same number of pts in weeks 1 to 23 as he did for the 2nd half of the season for weeks 24 to 46. The rest of us were better/worse in the second half (see table at right).
This season was the 7th edition of the FLC comp. Last year, after five different winners, Sypher became the first player to win this twice (he won the 3rd comp back in 2008-09). Dizart is the 6th different winner.

| Cardiff City return to the top tier of English football after an absence of 51 years, when they spent two seasons in the old Division One (now the FA Premier League), in 1960-61 and 1961-62. The club's glory days were back in the 1920s, when they finished equal first in Division One (they lost the title on a countback to Huddersfield Town). They won the FA Cup in 1927 when they beat Arsenal 1-0; which was the first and only time the FA Cup was won by a team outside England.
Hull City return to the FA Premier League after an absence of three years, when they spent two seasons in the FAPL (which was their debut appearance in the top tier). The teams which finished 3rd to 6th will play-off for the 3rd promotion spot.
At the other end, Wolverhampton Wanderers were relegated to League One, which makes it to back-to-back relegations (they were relegated from the FAPL last year). Wolves now hold the unwanted distinction of being the first club relegated from the top tier to the third tier twice .. their first was in 1985 and 1986, when they finished last in Division One and then last in Division Two. |
