Guidelines for Quiz Creation

Important: ALL of the following sets of guidelines are relevant for the category you would like to submit to. Please read all of them carefully and keep them in mind as you develop your quiz. Thanks!

The following sets of guidelines apply to quizzes created in Harry Potter Book 6.

Guidelines for Harry Potter Book 6

Guidelines for Harry Potter

As we have plenty of Harry Potter quizzes we are only accepting quizzes that ask questions that have not been asked before, follow all the category instructions, and which contain no, or very few spelling and grammatical errors.

Do not make quizzes that focus only on one chapter.

Especially note the following
1. There should be at least four or five sentences of information with all questions. NOTE Summing up the question and answer, or adding personal opinion, does not count as information. Some extra fact or facts about the answer should be given.
2. Please note that quotations do not count as extra information. You may add brief (not more than one phrase or sentence) quotation to two or three of your answers, but info should mainly be in your own words.
3. Quizzes must have only ten questions, most of which should be multiple choice (seven or more).
4. No more than two fill-in-the-blank or true/false or yes/no questions.
5. Fill-in-the-blank answers should be be only one or two words. These words must be easily spelled, and contain no punctuation.
6. Quizzes covering more than one book must include the name (not number) of the book to which each question refers in the question.
7. Titles of books should be in quotation marks.
8. Do not give page numbers as these vary depending on the edition.
9. No questions asking about the first or last words in a book, or chapter of a book.
10. No very specific or obscure questions that can be answered by most players only if they have the book in front of them.
11. Quotes. We prefer not to have quizzes all on quotes. If you do it should have ten questions only. When asking a question about who made a certain quote, you must say to whom the quote was made, and/or the circumstances in which the quote was made. When making a quiz all on quotes the quotes should come from one specific book.

Guidelines for For Children

tt
  1. All quizzes in this category should have ten questions only (except for subcategories of Harry Potter/Books for Kids, which allow 15-question quizzes). Questions should be suitable for children aged from six to twelve.
  2. Fill-in-the-blank questions are not permitted (except in the Books for Kids, Harry Potter and Wordplay subcategories).
  3. Quizzes should contain mostly multiple choice questions. No more than three true/false or yes/no type questions per ten-question quiz.
  4. Questions should be brief, preferably no more than one sentence.
  5. Each question should have at least two short sentences of factual interesting information (repeating the answer and commenting on the question do not count as interesting information).
