Guidelines for Quiz Creation

Important: ALL of the following sets of guidelines are relevant for the category you would like to submit to. Please read all of them carefully and keep them in mind as you develop your quiz. Thanks!

The following sets of guidelines apply to quizzes created in For Children.

Guidelines for For Children

PLEASE NOTE - All quizzes in this category should have TEN questions only and be suitable for children from age six to age twelve. Questions and information should be brief. Preferably not more than one sentence in the question and only two or three sentences in the answer.

Note that you may not submit a quiz to restricted subcategories (usually indicated by an asterisk * after the subcategory name) unless you already have five quizzes online. Only quizzes of merit will be considered in the following categories (except for subcategories marked "closed"). Play the quizzes in these categories BEFORE you start to create a quiz. Quizzes with questions that have been asked before will not be accepted. Be original if you wish your quiz to go online.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

1. No Fill-in-the-Blank questions are allowed in this category. The only exception is for quizzes in the Children's Literature, Harry Potter and in Wordplay categories.
2. Questions should be multiple choice. There should be no more than three Yes/No or True/False in your quiz.
3. Questions should be brief, preferably no more than one sentence.
4. Information should be given with every answer, but should be no more than two to three sentences. Information should not just sum up the question and answer. Comments, such as "That was easy" and personal remarks such as "It's my favorite book", are NOT information.
5. Questions must be able to stand on their own and must not refer back to previous questions or the introduction.
6. Be sure that your questions are not date dependent. That is when an answer may be different in the future.
7. Answers like 'It doesn't say' or 'We're not told' will no longer be accepted as an answer.
8. Put your quiz in the correct sub-category before submitting - just keep selecting and saving your quiz in a new subcategory until you are in the most appropriate one.
9. Quizzes containing questions that have been asked in many other quizzes will not be accepted.
10. Only submit or resubmit one quiz per day.
11. Do not say "This is hard/easy'. What is hard for one person may be easy for another.
12. Numbers twelve and under should be written as words.

These are guidelines specific to the For Children category and not only do your quizzes have to follow these guidelines, but they must also follow the site-wide Quiz Creation Guidelines. A link to those can be found in the Members Area.

Please do not write or submit a quiz until you have played a few games and are familiar with Quiz Creation Guidelines
