Guidelines for Quiz Creation
Important: ALL of the following sets of
guidelines are
relevant for the
category you would like to submit to. Please read all of them carefully
and keep them in mind as you develop your quiz. Thanks!
The following sets of guidelines apply to quizzes created in
Quizmaker Tune-Ups.
Guidelines for Quizmaker Tune-Ups
Quizmaker Tune-ups are quizzes that provide would-be authors with tips and tricks for getting their quizzes online without fuss. Quizzes can only be accepted here if they are of a very high standard, offer a new angle on quizmaking not already covered by an existing quiz, and are written by an author who has considerable experience of the editing process.
Guidelines for General
If you want to get specific with a single topic you would be better finding a specific category. The General category is not to be used because you can't find the correct one. If you are unsure, select a FunTrivia category that is at least close to the topic of your quiz. Exceptions are Alphabetics, By the Numbers, Colors, Common Bond, Country Specific (non Geography), Gems/Birthstones, Family Life, Names, Superstitions/Magic, Thematic Fun, True or False, Urban Legends, and World Records, which are all located within the General category.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
Most questions should be multiple choice with seven in a ten question quiz.
All questions should have 2-3 factual sentences in the "interesting information" sections.
Questions on hair color, body height, weight and the like are not accepted in new quizzes.
Questions must be able to stand on their own and must not refer back to previous questions or the introduction (except in Common Bond quizzes).
Be sure that your questions are not date dependent. That is when an answer may be different in the future.
Fill-in-the-blank answers must be brief, contain no punctuation and should be relatively easy to spell.
