Guidelines for Quiz Creation

Important: ALL of the following sets of guidelines are relevant for the category you would like to submit to. Please read all of them carefully and keep them in mind as you develop your quiz. Thanks!

The following sets of guidelines apply to quizzes created in The Bible.

Guidelines for The Bible

Please remember that not all visitors playing Bible quizzes are Christian.

* The Bible translation you are using must be named in the Introduction; if information comes from a different source for one or two questions, the translation must be named somewhere in that question.

* All Biblical quotes and information must be referenced.

* Because any question could be chosen for the Global Challenge at any time, it is only fair to name the translation in the question if you are asking the player to complete a direct scriptural quote with a specific word. This applies even though you have named the translation in the Introduction because that does not get reproduced on the Global Challenge.

* Please do not have any more than a third of your quiz (3/10) questions which require the filling in of a gap in a scriptural quote.

* At least two thirds (7/10) of your Interesting Info sections should be in your own words. Please do not just quote Bible verses.
A combination is permissible, but sparingly.

* To make things easier for all, the same format should be used - namely book number (if applicable), book name, chapter number, colon (:), verse(s). For example, 1 Corinthians 13:2 or John 3:1,2 or John 4:5-30 or John 3:16

* Please be aware that some subjects are ?done to death? and can be tedious for players. If you touch on one of the following topics, please be creative and ask something different.

How many apostles are/were there?
Who was the eldest person in the Bible? / How long did Methuselah live?
Who was swallowed by a big fish?
Who cut Samson's hair?
Who threw who in the lions? den / fiery furnace?
Who told Mary she was to have a child?
Who was sold into slavery by his brothers?
Who was the first man/woman?
Who were Jacob's wives?
How long did it rain in the story of Noah's Ark?
What is the longest/shortest book/chapter/verse in the Bible?
