 | Larry E. Worth ("Gunslinger") (1940 - 2003), FunTrivia
Chief
Editor |

 | Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high unsurpassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

More than his many contributions to the website, the way in
which he
presented himself and provided leadership will be missed. I have met few
people who could make a tough decision, stick firmly with it, and back it
up in an unwavering manner. If Gunslinger wanted something done, it was
done. He knew when he was right, and he stuck to his guns. I handed over
great chunks of the website to him, and he constantly wanted larger and
more challenging tasks, and he handled everything thrown his way
magnificently.
While Gunslinger may no longer be with us, a part of him will live on
permanently in FunTrivia. The processes he put in place and the leadership
that he provided here will not be forgotten -- he left an impression on
editors,
guests, and complete strangers that will be more long-lasting than he
could have ever possibly imagined. The sound advice and wisdom that he
often shared will also be missed.

Thank you Gunslinger, for all of the time that you dedicated to FunTrivia.
I know that you thought of FunTrivia as a second home, and we thought of
you as a family member. I feel deeply saddened that I won't be able to
learn more about you, but at the same time
honored and grateful that I had the opportunity and the pleasure to meet
and work with such a fine and remarkable man. You were a role model for us
all.

"I guess I have made my mark over the years and I will hope to be
remembered down the years", he wrote, a couple of months before his
death.

Of that, there is no question.
