In "The Devil's Party: Satanism in Modernity", edited by Per Faxneld and Jesper Aa. Petersen, there is a fascinating chapter on Stanislaw Przybyszewski. His most Satanic work, according to the text, was "The Synagogue of Satan" written in 1897.

Many people do not know that the chapters on Lovecraft in "The Satanic Rituals" were actually ghost-written by Dr. Michael A. Aquino. The Church of Satan may have disowned Dr. Aquino by now, but he and Anton LaVey were very close at one time.

Dr. Aquino has an extensive, two volume book on his time with the Church of Satan and Anton LaVey, filled with many interesting facts such as this. LaVey seems to have been a fan of Weird Fiction. "The King in Yellow" is a group of overlapping stories about a forbidden play, "The King in Yellow", which the main characters in each story read. Upon reading it, they come into contact with the strange forces common to weird fiction.

Kenneth Grant, and indeed many of his followers, believed him to be the rightful successor to Aleister Crowley after the latter's death, though Grant was never officially recognized. Grant wrote many books in the course of his lifetime, and is still widely discussed today.

The Typhonian Tradition is named after the Greek Titan Typhon, who comes from the Egyptian God Set. They believed that there was a dark side to the hermeticism of Crowleyian groups which should be embraced, whereas the groups of the time denied this dark side. Kenneth Grant launched a deep study into tantric traditions, voodoo, and African tribalism.

The ONA has generally been considered a fascist group by academics, engaging and promoting criminal activity including human sacrifice, and having ties to Islamic extremism. Of course, there is great debate as to whether the ONA is a real organization at all, or a hoax that has inspired scattered individuals.

Kalas are an aspect of tantric traditions, "essences" which some have believed are released by females during sex, and used for ritualistic purposes. All of these things, and much much more, are discussed in Levenda's book. However, the Tunnels of Set and such were covered in great depth by Kenneth Grant within his life. "The Dark Lord" is a source of much rare knowledge, such as the underestimated importance of the Golden Dawn on Thelema, and the interest occultism has with H.P. Lovecraft.
