Ironically, it was an easy stunt that he'd performed many times before that caused his most life threatening injury. In the stunt, he was to jump from a wall to a tree below him. He performed it once but was not satisfied. So, he tried again. On the second jump he missed the branch he was going for and landed head first on the rocks below. A piece of his skull cracked and shot up into his brain. Blood began to pour from his ears. He was immediately rushed to a hospital and underwent emergency brain surgery. He eventually had a full recovery but to this day has a permanent hole in his head that is now filled with a plastic plug.
