He was the eponymous hero of the UK TV series "Budgie" (he played Ronald "Budgie" Bird) which ran from 1971 to 1972. Harry Nilsson III (aka Nilsson) was born in Brooklyn New York in 1941. He worked with various artists through the 1960s and finally broke through with a minor hit called "Everybody's Talkin'" in 1968. After being used in the soundtrack of the 1969 motion picture "Midnight Cowboy", the song was re-released and became his first Top Ten Billboard hit in the U.S., reaching number six. After that other hits followed such as "I Guess The Lord Must Be In New York City", "Without You" (the biggest hit of his career), and "Coconut". He also wrote a song called "One" which was a major hit for Three Dog Night. Harry continued recording into the early 1980s but largely retired from the business. He passed away due to heart failure in 1994.
