Amazing Race 25 Trivia Questions

1. In Leg 1, three teams failed to complete the Road Block, instead taking penalties of what duration?

From Quiz
Road Blocks of "The Amazing Race 25"

Answer: Four hours

Off the coast of U.S. Virgin Islands, landed on a beach and grabbed their first Road Block clue of the race. For this, selected team members had to use basic instructions and a liquid compass to locate a treasure chest containing their next clue. Starting at one of four landmarks they needed to measure out the location based on their yard-long shovels, and dig. Tim, Adam, Alli, Jim, Dennis, Keith, Shelley, Amy, Lisa, Scott, and Robbie were selected for this, but only eight of them completed the task. Keith, Lisa, and Scott each took a four-hour penalty to be enacted at the start of the next leg, but Lisa (and her sister Michelle) were eliminated at the first Pit Stop.

2. Teams completed their first Detour of the race in what city?

From Quiz Detours of "The Amazing Race 25"

Answer: London, England

Teams didn't have a Detour in the first leg of the race, so when they flew to London in the second Leg and came across a clue at the London Tower Bridge, only ten teams made a choice between two tasks-- 'About Face' and 'Pancake Race'. In 'About Face', teams joined the Queen's Guard at Somerset House and learned how to perform a traditional changing of the guard, working with a drill instructor to complete the steps and commands. Misti and Jim, Tim and Te Jay, Kym and Alli, Brooke and Robbie, Amy and Maya, and Shelley and Nici completed this. In 'Pancake Race', in the shadow of British Parliament, teams made pancakes and then raced around a marked course, flipping the pancakes, in a time under a minute and fifteen seconds. Adam and Bethany, Keith and Whitney, Michael and Scott, and Dennis and Isabelle completed this task.

3. Which team won the Fast Forward in Singapore in Leg 9, skipping all tasks?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [5]

Answer: Adam and Bethany

In Leg 9, teams had to leave Malta and their eighth Pit Stop at Fort Manoel to get plane tickets to Southeast Asia, specifically the city of Singapore. Teams ended up arriving on one of two separate flights are were required to race by taxi, ferry, and then on foot for one kilometer to a coconut stand on Pulau Ubin where they would need to drink a coconut-worth of milk to get their next clue envelope. This would contain the Fast Forward task, sending a team to ride a standing wave for two minutes (both members at the same time) to head directly to the Pit Stop. Adam and Bethany did this on their second try.

4. In Leg 7, teams departed from Morocco and flew to what Italian city?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [4]

Answer: Palermo

Heading into Leg 7, teams departed from their halfway point at the Casbah d'If in Marrakesh and boarded planes taking them to the Mediterranean island of Sicily, specifically to the Italian city of Palermo. Upon landing, the teams needed to take a taxi to the Teatro di Verdura where they would claim one of three departure times leaving twenty minutes apart and have the chance to enjoy an overnight stay in the city. Of course, in the morning, teams were handed their next clues bright and early.

5. To what Moroccan city did teams travel in Leg 5?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [3]

Answer: Marrakesh

Leaving the VM Houses in Copenhagen, Denmark early in the morning, the eight racing teams headed directly to the airport to hop on the quickest flight southward to the city of Marrakesh, Morocco. When the teams arrived, they were required to visit the Jemaa el-Fnaa marketplace to find their first clue. Here, Misti and Jim completed their Speed Bump task, requiring that they visit a local carpet shop, haul rugs through the city, and properly hang them along a wall to continue with the leg. All of the other teams were told to pull a food cart into the marketplace and assist with its setting up to get their next clue.

6. In Leg 3, teams departed from Oxford, England, heading to what region of Scotland?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [2]

Answer: The Shetland Islands

Heading out from Blenheim Palace outside of Oxford in the start of Leg 3, teams were told to make their way upward through Scotland on an extensive journey, first by train to Aberdeen, then by car to a ferry terminal to make their way to the Shetland Islands, the archipelago at the top of the United Kingdom islands. Upon arriving, teams needed to drive themselves to Lerwick's Royal National Lifeboat Station to get their next clue. All nine teams took the same ferry.

7. In which major U.S. city did teams begin the twenty-fifth "Amazing Race"?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [1]

Answer: New York City

Heading back to the place where it all started, eleven all-new teams headed to New York City to commence a race around the world for one million dollars. In the middle of the night, the teams started in front of a crowd of "Amazing Race" fans (and former racers) in Times Square, opening their first clues on the bleachers in the middle of the destination. Here, they were instructed to head by taxi to the first-ever "Amazing Race" finish line, the Unisphere at Flushing Meadows Park. Of course, the crowd was willing to lend this info.

8. In the fourth leg of the race, teams ordered up dishes at a Copenhagen restaurant. What types of food did they need to memorize?

From Quiz Road Blocks of "The Amazing Race 25"

Answer: Sandwiches

Closing our the fourth leg of the race, teams had to travel to the Ida Davidsen Restaurant in Copenhagen, Denmark where one member of each team took on the role of a waiter to receive four complicated sandwich orders. If they could learn the ingredients and recite them off, from memory, to Ida Davidsen herself, they could get their next clue and race on to the Pit Stop. Kym, Maya, Brooke, Whitney, Te Jay, Adam, Misti, and Nici completed this task.

9. What was unique about the final Detour task of the race (as found in The Philippines in Leg 11)?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [6]

Answer: It was a 'blind' Detour

Like in Malta in Leg 8, teams located their Detour task but were surprised to find that they were not given any clues as to what they entailed. In fact, opening their clues at Rajah Sulayman Park, they were simply given a choice between 'This' and 'That' before being sent off to one of two specific locations at which they would receive another clue containing that specific task's instructions. In this case, while both tasks were quite physical, the teams would need to evaluate their options and continue with them (or quit them) at their own risk.

10. Team members completing the tightrope Road Block task in Leg 9 had to perform the task at what landmark?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [5]

Answer: Marina Bay Sands Resort

Teams not opting to partake in the Fast Forward task were sent back to Singapore's downtown area and told to make their way up to one of the higher floors of the Marina Bay Sands Resort. There, they would find a Road Block clue asking for the racer who wanted to be a funambulist. For this task, Maya, Brooke, Jim, and Kym had to traverse a tightrope strung fifty-seven floors up between two of the towers of the resort-- there and back-- before they could collect their next clue sending them to the centre square of Raffles Place.

11. To which Caribbean location did teams travel during the first leg of the race?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [1]

Five teams made it on the first flight while six took the subsequent one. Only two teams could join the same charter.

They then needed to take three bundles of prepared hides, secure them onto a bike, and ride them through the alleys to a nearby cobbler, returning with the receipt for their clue. Keith, Amy, Brooke, Bethany, Tim, Kym, Nici, and Misti were selected for this task.

13. Only one team completed the 'Chilli Crabs' Detour option in Singapore in Leg 9. Which was it?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [5]

Here, all of the teams were told to hop into a boat and take a trip to Carval Rock where they would need to go rock climbing from one end to the other and take a leap into the water to find a message in a bottle. The bottle would contain their next clue sending them back to Lovango Cay and a ship known as Blackbeard's Revenge where Blackbeard himself would hand over the next task.

17. Team members rode ziplines for the Road Block in Leg 6, doing so in what mountain range?

From Quiz Road Blocks of "The Amazing Race 25"

Answer: Atlas Mountains

Visiting the remote adventure area of Terres D'Amanar outside of Marrakesh, Morocco, teams had to choose a member who had the 'knack for sliding things into place'. The task ended up being a bit misleading as the selected teammate had to cross mountain gorges on tightropes, obstacle courses, and ziplines before completing a unique sliding block puzzle. If they could perform all of these steps and successfully complete the puzzle they could drive to the Pit Stop. Misti, Bethany, Te Jay, Alli, Brooke, Maya, and Shelley were selected to complete this task.

18. Who did not complete the delivery Road Block in The Philippines in Leg 11?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [6]

Answer: Ten

Amy and Maya and Robbie and Brooke ended up working together to finish this task, ending much quicker than they would have with 'Painters'.

20. Which team utilized the Double U-Turn in Leg 5 (in Morocco)?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [3]

Answer: Shelley and Nici

There, everyone stepped in front of the Double U-Turn and were given the choice of sending another team to the other Detour option. 21. In Leg 3 (in Scotland), how many sheep did teams need to herd?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [2]

Answer: Eight

After the Detour, teams were told to drive to the Berry Farm in Scalloway where both team members would need to select a marked pen and, using whatever means available to them, they had to herd eight sheep from one end of a pen, through three slanted gates, and into a metal pen in the center of the far end of their paddock. Once all eight were in, they would receive their next clue-- a brooch-- and were told to find where it came from.

Once they had 3oz of butter, they got their clue.

23. Which team was last to arrive at the final Pit Stop in The Philippines in Leg 11?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [6]

Answer: Amy and Maya

After the Road Block, the teams were told to proceed by taxi to their final Pit Stop of the race, the Baluarte de San Diego in Intramuros. Robbie and Brooke finally took their first victory, arriving at the Pit Stop in first place. Instead of receiving a prize, however, they were told that the race would continue from that moment. Phil handed them a manila envelope (as he did with the other teams) and their next clue. Amy and Maya, who were the last to arrive at the Pit Stop, were shockingly spared from elimination and told to keep racing, though one team would be eliminated on their way to the Finish Line in Leg 12.

24. Which team was eliminated from the race in Singapore in Leg 9?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [5]

Answer: Kym and Alli

Finding their clue at Mount Faber, teams were told to proceed to their ninth Pit Stop, the Fullerton Pavilion on Singapore's waterfront. Here, Adam and Bethany won their third leg of the race (though second in a row), this time receiving a trip for two to Bali courtesy of Travelocity, and all thanks to a lucky Fast Forward break. In the end of the leg, Kym and Alli were unable to regain the time lost by heading to the Fast Forward. Despite completing the tasks faster than most other teams, they still arrived in last and were eliminated. This was also the last leg of the race in which Misti and Jim could use the save.

25. Which team was last to arrive at the seventh Pit Stop of the race in Italy?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [4]

Answer: Tim and Te Jay

Following the Detour, teams were told to proceed by taxi to their seventh Pit Stop, the Villa Niscemi in Palermo, which also happened to be the three hundredth Pit Stop of the U.S. "Amazing Race". Upon landing on the mat just ahead of Kym and Alli, Misti and Jim took their fourth win of the race, this time earning themselves a trip to Jamaica courtesy of Travelocity. The last team to arrive, Tim and Te Jay, were saved with a non-elimination leg, but would be required to complete a Speed Bump.

26. Which team was eliminated from the race in Morocco in Leg 5?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [3]

Answer: Keith and Whitney

Following their visit to the Double U-Turn, teams were told to race through the market's side-streets to the Al Matjar Carpet Shop and their fifth Pit Stop. Here, Kym and Alli narrowly slid into first place ahead of Adam and Bethany to take their second consecutive win. This time, they won $5,000 each for their victory. In the end, Keith and Whitney ended up landing on the mat in last place, more than two hours after the other teams, as they were already last and were forced to complete both Detour options. They were the fourth team eliminated from the race.

27. Which team was eliminated from the race in Scotland in Leg 3?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [2]

Answer: Michael and Scott

After the sheep-herding task, teams were told to find the location at which their brooches were originally found, St. Ninian's Island, where Phil and the local puffin mascot would be able to check them into their next Pit Stop overlooking their overnight campsite. Here, Misti and Jim won their second leg of the race, this time taking with them a trip for two to Dubai, U.A.E. courtesy of Travelocity. The Save was still in their possession. In the end, injured firefighter team Michael and Scott, who accidentally went the wrong way to the Pit Stop, ended up checking in in ninth place, finding themselves eliminated.

28. Which team was eliminated from the race in the first leg (and after taking a four hour time penalty)?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [1]

Answer: Lisa and Michelle

After the Road Block, teams were told to head back to Charlotte Amalie and take a taxi to their first Pit Stop, Fort Christian. Here, after forging ahead at the Road Block, Misti and Jim ended up arriving first and taking with them the powerful new prize known as 'The Save'. This would spare them from elimination should they come in last in any of the first nine legs of the race. In the end, three teams ended up taking four-hour penalties, dropping out of the Road Block and racing out to the Pit Stop. While Keith and Whitney and Michael and Scott stayed ahead, Lisa and Michelle ended up arriving last and finding themselves eliminated.

29. Leg 7 had a limited station Detour in Palermo, Sicily. How many teams could complete the 'Painters' option?

From Quiz Detours of "The Amazing Race 25"

Answer: Four & 4

And four teams did complete 'Painters' in which they had to visit a local church and, lying with their backs on high scaffolds, restore frescos to meet the standards of the local priest. Misti and Jim, Kym and Alli, Adam and Bethany, and Tim and Te Jay made it in time to snag this tough task. Brooke and Robbie and Amy and Maya were stuck with 'Posers', taking them to the Teatro Politeama Garibaldi to watch opera singers perform and then, heading to the costume department, identify their outfits and mark their names and plays on a playbill. If they got all ten correct, they'd get their clue.

30. What was the final destination city of "The Amazing Race 25" (as visited in Leg 12)?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race 25" [6]

Answer: Los Angeles

Opening their clues immediately upon arriving at the final Pit Stop in Baluarte de San Diego in Manila, teams were told to keep their manila envelopes sealed as they flew to Los Angeles, California, the final destination city of the race. For the first time, the final leg of the race would see four teams go for the Finish Line. Also for the first time, since the eighth season of the race, the final leg would not have the mandatory rest period at the final Pit Stop. Upon arriving at LAX, teams located their marked Ford Explorers and used the voice tech inside to receive their next clue.
