A user will put in the previous day's edition, the computer will recognize the reader and print up that day's edition, personalised with information the reader has set up in their preferences. Delenn liked to have more information on Minbar in her edition so she could know what was going on before her government told her.

Commander Jeffrey Sinclair was recalled to Earth after President Santiago was killed. From there he was sent to Minbar to be the EA Ambassador. There he became Entil'Zha and commanded the Rangers. In season 3, he returned to the station briefly so that Delenn, Sheridan, Marcus, Zathras and the White Star could go get Babylon 4 from the time rift in Sector 14. Sinclair then took Babylon 4 back 1,000 in time to give the station to the Minbari, who were losing the first Shadow War.

Valen (also known as Jeffrey Sinclair) formed the Grey Council 1000 years before the events in "Babylon 5." The Grey Council consisted of 3 members of each caste. When Delenn was 'kicked off' the council for undergoing her transformation without waiting for confirmation from the group, Neroon was added to the Council, thus disrupting the balance and giving the Warrior Caste 4 people and the Religious Caste only 2. Delenn later broke up the council and reformed it after the Minbari Civil War.

Lieutenant Commander Laurel Takashima was transferred shortly after this episode took place. A native of Earth, Takashima worked Mars Colony Security before the Food Riots. When she saw that the system was corrupt, she stopped playing by the rules. However, once she met Sinclair, she promised him that she would adhere to the rules (and was later promoted because of this). Takashima also had 'hidden away' a stash of coffee in the hydroponics section. At one point in the pilot, she offers to send a Narn ship a 'fruit basket' because they had to wait so long to go through security.
