'Breaking Bad'- Season 2 Trivia Questions

1. Walt received the phone call that he had been expecting: Jesse had awoken to find Jane dead. Who went to help clean up Jesse's place?

From Quiz
2.13 "ABQ"

Answer: Saul's associate

Walt was in his living room, holding baby Holly, and waiting for Jesse's call. Walt told him to calm down and that he knew who to call. Shortly after that, a car pulled up in front of Jesse's place, and the man told Jesse that Saul Goodman had sent him. We'd later find out that his name was Mike Ehrmantraut. Mike put on gloves and went to work, cleaning up any evidence of drugs in the place while Jesse crouched in the living room. Besides removing the drugs and the money, he coached Jesse on what to do when he called 911. He also told Jesse to put on a long-sleeved shirt to hide the needle marks on his arms. Did you catch the blooper? As Mike looked at Jane's body while he blew into his glove, you could see her stomach rise as she breathed!

2. Walt arrived at Skyler's hospital room to find Skyler holding the baby. Who else was in the room?

From Quiz 2.12 "Phoenix"

Answer: Ted Beneke

While Walt apologized profusely for missing the birth, Skyler didn't appear upset and said, "Meet your daughter" as she handed the baby to him. Just as Walt was saying "hi" to little Holly, Ted said, "Congratulations, Walt". Walt was surprised that he was there, but Skyler explained that Ted was the one who drove her to the hospital. Walt thanked Ted for doing so, but he didn't look pleased that Ted was involved.

3. Who shot Combo at the beginning of the episode, when he was on a corner lot waiting for customers?

From Quiz 2.11 "Mandala"

Answer: A boy on a bike

Combo was one of Jesse's dealers, along with Skinny Pete and Badger. He was standing on a vacant corner lot when a car pulled up. He asked the occupants what they wanted, but they just stared at him and then drove off. They ended up parking across the street from him, which made him nervous, so he called Skinny Pete on his phone and asked for help. Meanwhile a young boy on a bicycle was riding around the lot, and Combo told him to leave, thinking that there might be trouble from the men in the car. But the trouble turned out to come from the kid who shot him when Combo turned to look at him. Combo tried to run away, but the boy shot at him several more times, and Combo collapsed in the street.

4. Walt met Jesse at a restaurant and told him that his cancer was in remission. What did Walt tell him when Jesse asked him what's next?

From Quiz 2.10 "Over"

Answer: He was done.

Jesse said he was surprised to see Walt because after Walt's comments during their last cook, he expected Walt to be dead. Walt told him that he was in remission with an 80 percent reduction in tumor size. Jesse understood the meaning of this because he'd taken care of his aunt when she had cancer, and he was jubilant, much more so than Walt. When Jesse asked what happened next, Walt was a bit vague. He said that they would take time to sell off their stock, and then added, "And I guess I'm done".

5. Walt was having a PET-CT scan to see if the cancer treatment was working, but he wouldn't get the doctor's results for four days. Why did he expect to hear bad news?

From Quiz 2.9 "4 Days Out"

Answer: He saw a reflection of the scan image on the computer screen.

Before he went in for his test, Marie had told him that the technicians could read the scans just as well as the doctors, so after his test, Walt asked the technician how it looked. The technician, however, said that he was only a technician and that Walt would need to speak with his doctor. But Walt was able to see a reflection of the computer screen on a picture, and he saw a large spot in his lung, so he figured that the treatment wasn't working. When he met Saul Goodman later, he told Saul that he only had weeks left.

6. Jesse and Jane consummated their relationship on the floor in Jesse's bedroom. When Jesse suggested to Jane that they smoke marijuana afterward, what did she toss at him?

From Quiz 2.8 "Better Call Saul"

Answer: Her 18-month chip for addiction recovery

Jane told Jesse that she had smelled him smoking marijuana in his duplex and that he'd lose his deposit because of it. He told her that since he'd already lost the deposit, they should just light up, but instead Jane got up to leave. She tossed Jesse her chip and explained to him that she was in recovery and that "pot was like stepping stones". Jesse told her he respected that, and he wouldn't smoke in the house any more.

7. At the beginning of the episode, Walt was lecturing a failing student after class. He then retrieved his second cell phone to call Jesse. Where had he hidden the phone?

From Quiz 2.7 "Negro Y Azul"

Answer: In the ceiling tiles in his classroom

The student was failing chemistry and wanted Walt to let him pass with a 58% so that he wouldn't have to go to summer school. Walt said no and told him to apply himself. After the student left, Walt checked to make sure he was alone and then retrieved the cell phone from the ceiling tiles of the room. He reached Jesse's answering machine for the third time. He told Jesse he'd leave the phone on for the next fifteen minutes. He thought that Jesse might be avoiding him because he had told Jesse to handle the situation involving Skinny Pete's stolen cash, so he told Jesse not to worry about it and "let it go".

8. At the beginning of the episode, Jesse was standing on a corner waiting for Skinny Pete. What was Jesse playing with, that Pete squashed when he arrived?

From Quiz 2.6 "Peekaboo"

Answer: Beetle

Jesse was waiting for Pete at a corner near the railroad tracks. While he was waiting, he spotted a beetle walking on the ground, and he amused himself by letting it crawl over his hand. When Pete arrived, Pete promptly squashed it. Pete was there to give Jesse the address of the two addicts who robbed him. "These two, they need to get got", said Pete. He also said that he would do it but he was on probation.

9. After being kicked out of his house in the last episode, Jesse needed to find a new place to stay, and after being rejected at several places, he finally rented an apartment from Jane Margolis. What did Jesse tell her his name was?

From Quiz 2.5 "Breakage"

Answer: Jesse Jackson

Jane told Jesse that she managed the apartment for her father and that she needed proof of employment and former residence in order to rent the space to him. He pleaded with her, telling her that he was out of options and really needed a break. She agreed, providing he paid more rent and an additional deposit. She told him she'd fill out the paperwork and just asked him to sign it, which he did. When she asked him his name, he responded, "Jesse, Jesse... Jackson". "Seriously?" she asked, but he didn't get it.

10. Walt and Jesse had their first face-to-face meeting since the Tuco incident. Where did it take place?

From Quiz "Breaking Bad": 2.4 "Down"

Answer: A mini-mart

Jesse arrived at the Tri H Gas 'N Go mini-mart on a motorcycle. Walt was already there, and they talked to each other from separate aisles, trying to be inconspicuous. Walt told Jesse that they'd have to wait to start cooking again because his wife worried if he was gone for more than twenty minutes. Jesse mentioned that Hank had took all of his money, so Walt gave him $600 in an envelope. Jesse expected to get half of the money that Walt had - "50/50 partners". As they quietly argued, a policeman walked in, and Jesse started to leave before Walt told him, "I leave first".

11. Walt's cover story for the time he spent in Tuco's custody was that he had a temporary black-out and couldn't remember where he had been. He turned up in a grocery store in what condition?

From Quiz "Breaking Bad": 2.3 "Bit by a Dead Bee"

Answer: Naked

When Walt and Jesse finally reached a road after trekking across the desert, Walt hitched a ride in the back of a pickup truck, leaving Jesse to find another way into town. Before they split up, they had already drawn up their plans to cover for the missing time. Jesse told Walt, "It's a bold plan, Mr. White". That evening, a clerk at a Hi-Lo Market found Walt's shoe blocking the automatic door. She then found a trail of clothes which lead to Walt standing completely naked in the store.

12. In the beginning of the episode, Hank was briefing his agents on the operation to find Tuco Salamanca. What evidence did they find against Tuco at the junkyard crime scene?

From Quiz "Breaking Bad": 2.2 "Grilled"

Answer: A bloody fingerprint

At the briefing, Hank recapped the findings from the junkyard crime scene. No-Doze, a member of Tuco's gang was dead, and Gonzo, Tuco's brother-in-law, died accidentally when the stack of cars over No-Doze's body shifted, pinning and cutting Gonzo's arm until he bled out. Both worked with Tuco, but the main piece of evidence they found was Tuco's bloody fingerprint on No-Doze. The DEA had raided Tuco's headquarters but Tuco wasn't there, so Hank asked the agents if they were going to find him. He received a lukewarm "yes" in reply, so he asked them again and again until it turned into a pep rally for finding Tuco. But when Hank and Gomez left the room, Hank admitted that he suspected Tuco was long gone by now.

13. After Tuco and his men left the junkyard, Walt and Jesse sat in Jesse's car, while Walt did some calculations. To what was Walt referring when he mentioned the number 737?

From Quiz "Breaking Bad": 2.1 "Seven Thirty-Seven"

Answer: Thousands of dollars for his family

Walt had calculated the amount of money he needed to leave for his family, and that number was $737,000. He told Jesse that they'd need to do eleven more drug deals for each of them to get that amount. He also told Jesse that their future meetings would be in public places. Both Walt and Jesse looked pretty shook up from watching Tuco beat his henchman known as No-Doze for essentially no reason.

14. Jane's father was driving to her house to pick her up when he saw the ambulance parked out front and found out she was dead. Where had he been planning to take her?

From Quiz 2.13 "ABQ"

Answer: Rehab

In the last episode, he had discovered that Jane was doing drugs again after her 18-month sobriety, and he wanted to take her to rehab right then, but she pleaded with him for a day to get her affairs in order. As he was driving to pick her up, he called her on his cell phone and left a message, telling her that she'd better be packed and on the porch when he got there. But as he pulled up, he saw the paramedics taking the stretcher out of the ambulance, and the look on his face said it all: he knew. He watched in distraught silence as they put Jane in a body bag. He was too shell-shocked to even react to Jesse.

15. While Skyler and Walt were putting baby Holly in her bassinet, Jesse called their house. Walt answered the phone and since Flynn was there, he pretended he was speaking to the Assistant Principal Carmen. What was the reason for Jesse's frantic call?

From Quiz 2.12 "Phoenix"

Answer: The meth stash was missing

Jane was awoken from her heroin-induced slumber when her father called to remind her about the Narcotics Anonymous meeting. As she was leaving Jesse's room, she noticed the broken door and nonchalantly told Jesse, "Somebody broke in". When Jesse went into the kitchen, he realized the meth he had stashed under the sink was gone. Flynn initially answered the phone when Jesse called Walt, but Jesse didn't speak so Flynn hung up. When the phone rang again, Walt grabbed it, and realizing it was Jesse, he pretended it was Carmen until Flynn left the area. Then Walt called Jesse a "junkie imbecile" and wanted to know why he was calling that number. When Jesse told him that stash had been stolen, Walt realized that he didn't remember anything that had happened the night before so he just hung up.

16. After Combo's death, Skinny Pete quit Jesse's crew, leaving Jesse with no dealers. Where was Badger?

From Quiz 2.11 "Mandala"

Answer: California

Skinny Pete was shaken by Combo's death. He blamed it on the fact that they had moved into new territory per Jesse's instructions and that they no longer had "street cred". He told Jesse that they had respect on the street back when people thought Jesse had killed an addict with an ATM, but now "the whole town" knew the truth about that incident, so Pete told Jesse that he was out. He said that Badger was "laying low out in Cali", and later, when he called Jesse after Jesse missed Combo's funeral, Pete mentioned that "even Badger came all the way from Fresno".

17. Skyler gave a party to celebrate Walt's cancer remission, and Walt's speech was a bit of a downer. What did he say was his response both when he was diagnosed and when he found out his cancer was in remission?

From Quiz 2.10 "Over"

Answer: "Why me?"

Skyler wanted to have a party for their family and friends to celebrate his cancer remission. Walt didn't look thrilled about it but agreed to have one. At the party, Skyler gave a nice speech, thanking everyone for their support and thanking Gretchen and Elliott (who weren't there) for helping to pay for the treatment. Hank then asked "the man of the hour" to say a few words, and Walt said that when he was first diagnosed, he had asked himself, "why me", and that he had asked himself the same thing after he found out about the remission. It was an odd thing to say, and he didn't elaborate on it. Hank was standing next to Walt Jr. and sarcastically muttered the comment, "Wow, inspirational".

18. Skyler suggested that they take a weekend trip to get their minds off of the scan results, but Walt had another idea. Where did he tell Skyler he was going?

From Quiz 2.9 "4 Days Out"

Answer: To see his mom

Well, he did end up hanging out with Jesse, but that's not what he told Skyler. He told her that he was going to visit his mom because he wanted to make sure that his mom would leave money for Skyler if he died. Skyler was upset because it meant that Walt didn't expect the scan results to be good, but he said he just wanted to be prepared. Luckily for Walt, Skyler had no desire to see his mother, so he was able to go alone. She even told Walt that she wouldn't call him unless it was an emergency because she didn't want to "risk talking to his mother".

19. Hank returned unexpectedly from El Paso after the exploding tortoise ambush and wouldn't get out of bed. Who sat on his bed and pumped him up with a speech about facing his fears?

From Quiz 2.8 "Better Call Saul"

Answer: Walt

Walt went to see Hank after receiving a frantic call from Marie. She had been trying to call Skyler, but Skyler had already left for work so Walt took the call. Marie told him that Hank had shown up without any notice and had been holed up in his bed ever since. She said she had to find out from Gomez what had happened down in Mexico. Walt suggested to Hank that he see a psychiatrist, but Hank told him that would be the end of his career. Walt then suggested that Hank talk to him, which Hank initially brushed off: "You know, the things I deal with, you and me don't have much of what you might call an experiential overlap." Walt said that they did. Gasp! But then he told Hank that it was because he had spent his entire life living in fear of things that might or might not happen: "Fifty years I spent like that". But after his cancer diagnosis, things changed: "I came to realize it's that fear that's the worst of it. That's the real enemy. So... get up. Get out in the real world. And you kick that [fear] as hard as you can, right in the teeth." Hank seemed to take inspiration from Walt's comments.

20. Unable to reach Jesse by phone, Walt went to the duplex where Jesse lived and tried to get Jane to let him in to Jesse's apartment. Who did Walt claim he was?

From Quiz 2.7 "Negro Y Azul"

Answer: Jesse's dad

Walt was banging repeatedly on Jesse's door with no response, which brought Jane out. She told him she was the manager, so Walt asked her to open the door with a master key. Walt then told her that he was Jesse's father. "You're Mr. Jackson?" she asked. Walt said that he was "Walt Jackson". Jane offered to let him use her phone to call Jesse, but said she wasn't going to get involved in family issues, and she wasn't going to let him in. Then Jesse opened the door: "Come on in... Dad".

21. When Jesse arrived at the house of the addicts who had robbed Skinny Pete, he stood on the porch, practicing his bad guy voice for the attack. Who interrupted him?

From Quiz 2.6 "Peekaboo"

Answer: The mail carrier

"Do not mess with me, I will bury you 'cause I'm crazy" and "I will mess you up" were among the phrases that he practiced as he waited for someone to answer the door. But then he heard the squeaking wheels of the mail carrier's cart, and he quickly hid his gun as she approached the house. "Looks like it's gonna be a nice day, huh", she said to Jesse, after telling him he was blocking the mailbox. "Yeah, high 70s", Jesse replied, and then he cheerfully said, "Right on, you too" after she told him to have a nice day.

22. Besides getting a place to live, Jesse also needed a place to store the RV. Where did he end up parking it?

From Quiz 2.5 "Breakage"

Answer: Badger's cousin's compound

The last time Jesse was at Badger's cousin's compound, he drove the RV through the fence. So Clovis (Badger's cousin) was a bit surprised to see him return. But Jesse said that he was a man of his word, and he paid Clovis the remaining money he owed him plus additional cash for the broken portable toilet and smashed fence. He then asked Clovis to let him store the RV in the compound, and Clovis finally agreed for a rate of $500 a week up front. Jesse even ended up buying a car from Clovis.

23. Walt had made a large breakfast for the family, and things seemed to be getting back to normal between Skyler and him until Walt mentioned the second cell phone. What theory did he suggest to account for Skyler's belief that he had another phone?

From Quiz "Breaking Bad": 2.4 "Down"

Answer: His phone alarm sounded like a ring tone.

Walt had surprised the family by making a big breakfast with pancakes, fruit, pastries and juices, and they had a nice meal while discussing music. After Walt Jr. left for school, Walt suggested that Skyler could attend a fiction writing seminar at the University of New Mexico this week and offered to go with her. Then he mentioned her question on the second cell phone and said that what she probably heard was his cell phone alarm going off because he had been using the alarm a lot to keep track of his medications. He said that it sounded like a ring tone and that he had tried to change it but couldn't figure it out. He suggested that if they went to the seminar, they could pick him up a new cell phone on the way home, but then he heard a door close and realized she had left. He tried calling her, but she'd left her phone on the counter.

24. Jesse returned to his house with Badger to find police outside. After the police left, Jesse and Badger went in, removed the meth lab and stored it in the RV. What happened to the RV?

From Quiz "Breaking Bad": 2.3 "Bit by a Dead Bee"

Answer: Badger's cousin towed it.

Jesse explained to Badger that the police couldn't break into the house without probable cause. Once they were gone, Jesse and Badger went in and Jesse immediately began to dismantle the meth lab while an excited Badger exclaimed, "You are Willy Wonka, and I've got the Golden Ticket... Sail me down your chocolate river of meth". Badger begged Jesse to cook a batch for him, but Jesse remained focused and got the equipment out of the house. Badger's cousin told Jesse it would cost $1,000 bucks to tow the RV because "it's not the miles, it's the cargo". Jesse only had $560 on him, but Badger told his cousin that Jesse was good for the rest of the money.

25. As Walt and Jesse were leaving the junkyard, Tuco and Gonzo returned, nearly crashing into Jesse's car. Tuco got out of his vehicle, yelling for Heisenberg. What did he want Walt to do?

From Quiz "Breaking Bad": 2.1 "Seven Thirty-Seven"

Answer: Perform CPR on No-Doze

Tuco pulled a convulsing No-Doze out of the SUV and told Walt to perform CPR on him: "Do something. You're smart, right? Do that thing". Tuco wanted Walt to breathe into his mouth, but Walt said, "they don't teach that anymore". Then Tuco told Jesse to do it, but Walt stopped him because it was too late. When Tuco realized No-Doze was dead, he told Gonzo to get rid of the body, so Gonzo put the body under a stack of vehicles that shifted slightly while he was doing so.

26. Walt and Jesse try to assasinate Tuco by poisoning him. They make a poison out of a bean. What is the name of the bean and the name of the poison?

From Quiz "Breaking Bad" Season 2

Answer: Castor; Ricin

Walt and Jesse are very frightened that Tuco is about to kill both of them after witnessing the death of his associate. Walt comes up with a plan to make the ricin from the castor bean. It is in the form of a powder. They place the powder in a small baggie of meth in hopes that Tuco will want to take a snort of their "new and "improved product!

27. Walt had been keeping his second cell phone in the ceiling tiles at school, but now he had it in the house. Where did he hide it?

From Quiz 2.13 "ABQ"

Answer: In the toilet tank

As Skyler and Flynn were watching the donations roll in on the "SaveWalterWhite" website that Flynn had set up, Walt was in the bathroom, trying to get hold of Jesse. He retrieved the cell phone from a plastic bag that had been floating in the toilet tank and then called Jesse but got his voice mail. Apparently since he would be out of work for a while due to his upcoming surgery, he decided he needed to keep the phone at home.

28. Baby Holly was crying in the middle of the night so Walt got up to feed her. He then carried her into the garage/laundry room to show her what?

From Quiz 2.12 "Phoenix"

Answer: The money stashed behind the insulation

"Hey," Walt told her, "Do you want to see something?" He took her into the unfinished garage/laundry room and said, "See what your daddy did for you", as he pulled up the insulation behind the dryer. "That's right, Daddy did that", he said. Walt had become increasingly frustrated that he had not been able to let his family know about his success from his meth enterprise. When he later met with Saul, he lamented, "This is insane. I have so much cash on hand that I actually count it by weighing it on my bathroom scale and yet I can't spend it. I can't tell my family about it."

29. Jesse was upset about Combo's death and told Jane to leave so that he could do drugs. What did Jane do instead?

From Quiz 2.11 "Mandala"

Answer: Joined him

Jesse took Combo's death pretty hard, and it didn't help that Walt seemed more concerned with the inconvenience than the loss of life. When Jesse initially called Walt to inform him of Combo's death, Walt asked him, "Which one was he?" Jesse responded, "You did NOT just say that to me" and hung up on him. Later when Jesse was sitting with Jane, she told him she knew he was a drug dealer because he paid for his rent in cash and used an alias. He told her that one of his friends was killed because of him and then said he wanted to do drugs and that she should leave since she was in a recovery program. She asked him to come with her to a meeting but he turned her down and became bitter when she told him that doing drugs wouldn't help. She started to leave but changed her mind and went to Jesse's room instead. She completely jumped off the wagon by later introducing Jesse to heroin.

30. What caused Walt Jr. to get sick in the pool during the party?

From Quiz 2.10 "Over"

Answer: Tequila

Walt, Hank and Walt Jr. were sitting in the backyard, with Walt and Hank doing shots of tequila while Hank was telling his DEA stories to an enthralled Walt Jr. When Hank asked for a refill, Walt filled all of their glasses, pouring out Walt Jr.'s soda and replacing it with tequila. Walt Jr. looked at Hank, who told him not to let his mom see him drink it. The more Hank talked, the angrier Walt became. When he filled the glasses again, Hank told him that Walt Jr. was only sixteen and asked him if he was going for a "Father of the Year" title. Hank tried to stop him from pouring more tequila in Walt Jr.'s cup, but Walt merely poured the tequila over Hank's hand. Hank took the bottle away from Walt and the two of them got into a loud dispute when Walt ordered him to "bring the bottle back". It ended when Walt Jr. collapsed on his knees and threw up in the pool. Walt then sat down and downed another shot of tequila with a smirk on his face.
