'Star Trek: The Next Generation' - Episodes Trivia Questions

1. Ensign Ro corrects Picard on how, given her Bajoran heritage, she should be properly addressed.

From Quiz
Name That Episode #42

Answer: Ensign Ro

Things get off on the wrong foot as soon as the troubled Ensign Ro transports onboard the ship...and keep going wrong when she comes to the Ready Room to speak with Picard and Riker regarding her knowledge of the Bajora. When Picard wrongly addresses her as 'Ensign Laren', Ro boldly interrupts him in mid-sentence and corrects him by saying, "Ensign Ro, sir". A startled and perhaps somewhat-offended Picard then is begging her pardon, to which Ro responds with the explanation that the Bajoran family name comes first while the individual family member's name comes last. Therefore, as she goes on to tell him, she's properly addressed as Ensign Ro. Even after that awkward moment, the troubled Bajoran is still fuming with anger, wanting to get the mission over with as soon as possible and confessing that she doesn't want to be onboard the Enterprise anymore than Picard and Riker want her to be.

2. A painting, which depicts Data's android daughter, is shown to a scientist visiting the Enterprise in this episode.

From Quiz Name That Episode #41

Answer: Inheritance

Following the briefing in the Observation Lounge, Dr. Juliana Tainer had been hoping to get to know her android 'son'. Despite his skepticism, as well as after a heart-to-heart talk with his friend Geordi, Data wishes to get to know his 'mother' just the same. While the two are spending time together in his quarters, he is showing off several of his paintings to her. Among them is a brilliant creation of Lal, the very-shot-lived android daughter he created back in Season 3's "The Offspring".

3. Wesley is seen using a metallic, mechanical device to stretch and to help heal an injury to his arm, but we never see how the injury to his arm occurred.

From Quiz Name That Episode #38

Answer: The First Duty

The very first time we see Wesley in this episode, he is in his living quarters down at Starfleet Academy, rehabbing after the flight accident that Picard learns about from the admiral during the opening teaser. He is using a metal extension device to flex his arm back and forth as part of his healing process. It would be the only such kind of rehabilitation seen, as the rest of episode shows Wesley and his Nova Squadron comrades trying to cover up what really happened to their dead teammate before they ultimately come forward with the truth.

4. Geordi, after opening the Shuttlebay doors, lowers the forcefield surrounding those opened doors in an attempt to release an energy-draining lifeform that has attached itself to the Enterprise's exterior.

From Quiz Name That Episode #37

Answer: Galaxy's Child

After the mother space-faring lifeform is accidentally killed by the Enterprise crew, the baby that emerges is now in the need of nourishment. It latches itself onto the Enterprise's hull, which results in both an energy drainage that impacts the ship's systems and a buildup of dangerous radiation. At the suggested recommendation by guest passenger Dr. Leah Brahms, Geordi believes relieving the pressure inside the Shuttlebay could dislodge the creature, given its proximity to that area of the ship. Geordi is then seen operating a computer panel to release the Shuttlebay's forcefield, but doing so ends up having no effect on the lifeform whatsoever.

5. Counselor Troi enjoys a brief romance with a Human who has been genetically engineered.

From Quiz Name That Episode #36

Answer: The Masterpiece Society

The man named Aaron, who is the leader of the Human colony inside the artificially-created civilization on the planet, takes a liking to the Enterprise's counselor upon her arrival. He explains to her, Geordi and Riker that all of the Humans there are descendants of those who were genetically engineered years and years ago, programmed without flaws and with a life's purpose already pre-determined from birth. But Troi confesses that she'd never be able to fall in love with Aaron, as introducing a half-Betazoid into the society could cause internal rifts among Aaron's colleagues, considering the Human society had initially not wanted to interact with outsiders.

6. Worf is alone in a shuttlecraft, returning back to the Enterprise and recording a personal log describing how he emerged victorious in a bat'leth tournament, holding a prized trophy that is designed and shaped into the Klingon insignia.

From Quiz Name That Episode #34

Answer: Parallels

This happened right from this episode's opening teaser. As Worf is piloting his shuttle back towards its mother ship, he is recording a personal log where he states that he won Champion Standing in a bat'leth tournament on a distant planet. He proudly holds up his trophy, which is a brown marble ball surrounded by curved silver plates and molded into the trademark shape of the Klingon logo. This scene would play an important role later on in the episode, as when he plays back what he believes is the same personal log, the recording shows him talking about, instead, winning ninth place and holding up a much smaller trophy (the brown marble ball without the curved silver plates), indicating that something isn't quite right within his known universe.

7. A Ferengi ship and an Enterprise shuttle trek through a spatial anomaly to a distant part of the galaxy, but by the episode's end, the two Ferengi passengers and their ship never make it back to Federation space.

From Quiz Name That Episode #33

Answer: The Price

This classic episode features the two Ferengi, Kol and Arridor, among those in competition for rights to the Barzan Wormhole, which was initially deemed to be the only stable wormhole known to exist. But when the prized anomaly is suspected of not being as stable as everyone thinks it is, Data and Geordi take a shuttle to investigate, Kol and Arridor boarding their own ship to follow as well as a 'precaution' (the profit-hungry aliens don't want the Enterprise crew foiling their golden opportunity). Data and Geordi eventually confirm that the wormhole is stable only on one end--back in the Alpha Quadrant--and attempt to warn their lobed competitors away. The Ferengi, of course, don't listen, and when the wormhole closes, Kol and Arridor are shocked to find themselves tens of thousands of light-years outside of Federation space to the far reaches of the Gamma Quadrant.

8. Picard is in his quarters, having just been given a box that contains a woodwind instrument, which is similar to one that is seen being played at a special ceremony for a child on an alien planet earlier in the episode.

From Quiz Name That Episode #32

Answer: The Inner Light

One of the more iconic images from this beautiful and memorable episode is the tin whistle, which Kamin and his family kept referring to as a flute. We first see it when Kamin's wife, Eline, retrieves it from a dresser when Kamin is still a young man down on the planet of Kataan. The next time, Kamin is older and playing it outside his home at night for his friend, Batai. Then we see Kamin playing it in front of guests for the naming ceremony of his second child, whom they call Batai (in honor of his late friend). The 'flute' would be heard being played by a grown-up Batai some years later before it is ultimately seen one last time at the very end of the episode, when Picard retrieves it from the rectangular box, salvaged from the alien probe, that Riker brings into the captain's ready room.

9. Geordi is walking down a corridor en route to the holodeck, but as he's about to activate the program from the wall panel, his hand begins trembling.

From Quiz Name That Episode #31

Answer: Identity Crisis

At the outset of the episode, Geordi and his friend, Commander Leitjen, feared they might end up suffering the same fate as their former crewmates following their away mission down on Tarchannen III. And they would be right, as Leitjen is the first to experience the hand shaking and fused-finger symptoms. Then later, once Geordi is determined to get some concrete answers from the video log, he heads down to the holodeck. He's about to input the controls to activate his program from the wall panel when his hand starts trembling, with the other symptoms surfacing upon seeing his holographic re-creation of the rather spooky, clay-like image of one of the Tarchannen III lifeforms.

10. Worf is seen without his Klingon cranial ridges in this episode.

From Quiz Name That Episode #30

Answer: Homeward

In order to help his brother, Nikolai, trick the people from the devastated planet into believing that they are still on their original world, Picard orders Worf to be surgically altered. We would then see the Enterprise's security chief without his familiar Klingon cranial ridges; in essence, the natural appearance of the actor who so brilliantly portrayed the character through all seven seasons: Michael Dorn.

11. Picard is attempting to sleep onboard an alien ship while sharing quarters with a single occupant, but despite the silence, the mere presence of his roommate is enough to disturb him out of sleep.

From Quiz Name That Episode #29

Answer: Unification, Part 1

A humorous moment early on in the episode occurs while Picard and Data are on board the Klingon ship, heading towards the Neutral Zone en route to Romulus. Inside of their assigned cramped quarters, Picard is attempting to sleep on one of the bunks while Data, not needing any sleep, remains standing up. Despite Data's silence, a restless Picard keeps feeling the android's presence, ultimately giving up on trying to sleep altogether and instead discussing their plans to locate Spock.

12. Picard enters the holodeck to find that a program, consisting of solely the re-creation of the bridge of a Federation starship no longer in service, is actively running.

From Quiz Name That Episode #28

Answer: Relics

Sorely missing his former ship and crewmates, plus trying to make himself be useful on board a 24th-century starship, Scotty has the bridge of the original Enterprise NCC-1701 (without the bloody 'A', 'B', 'C' or 'D', as he says while in his annoyed, drunken state) re-created on the holodeck. Definitely a nostalgic moment for fans and viewers of "The Original Series"! Shortly after he is getting his bearings and admiring the ancient ship, Picard enters the holodeck, admitting to just be checking up on the aged engineer. He further impresses Scotty with the knowledge that the old Enterprise, which had become a relic in the Starfleet museum, was of the Constitution classification.

13. Counselor Troi is escorting a young child through a corridor en route to crew quarters, but upon entering inside those quarters, she is stunned when the interior has somehow transformed into the original furnishings of a familiar home back on Earth.

From Quiz Name That Episode #26

Answer: The Bonding

The boy named Jeremy Aster, whose mother had died in the accidental explosion down on the planet, is being escorted back to his quarters by Counselor Troi. But when they both enter inside, Jeremy is excited when he sees that the interior has changed to appear like his original home back on Earth, complete with all of the original furnishings, including his pet cat. Deanna, on the other hand, is visibly concerned that something is amiss. That concern is warranted when the alien being, who has masqueraded as Jeremy's dead mother out of guilt, appears for the second time, promising the boy that he will live happily ever after back on the desolate planet, even if it is only a created fantasy.

14. Geordi is walking down a corridor on the ship carrying Spot in his hands, but Data has no memory of leaving the doors to his quarters open to allow Spot to escape, and nor does the ship's computer indicate the presence of any previous intruders.

From Quiz Name That Episode #25

Answer: In Theory

As the Enterprise is gradually losing molecular cohesion in small pockets at a time, the crew experiences a variety of unexplained mishaps. One such mishap occurs in one particular scene when Data is walking through a corridor en route to his quarters. His buddy Geordi, who his carrying Spot, calls out to him, asking if Data left the doors to his quarters open by accident. Data doesn't recall Spot ever getting out, and when he inquires to the ship's computer about any possible intrusion, the computer gives him a negative response. Presumably, a pocket of structural incohesiveness temporarily appearing within the walls of Data's quarters enabled Spot to escape and wander through the ship, though none of this was actually shown onscreen.

15. How did Lurin hijack the Enterprise?

From Quiz 'Rascals'

Answer: He stole two Klingon B'rels from Qualor II

A little background into 'Rascals' is before Lurin attacked the Enterprise, he and his gang stole two Klingon B'rels from Qualor II, armed them, and used them to ambush the Enterprise and a Federation science vessel in orbit of Lagos VII. With the ship helpless, the Ferengi beamed aboard and locked the Enterprise crew in the nursery with Alexander before beaming all the adults off except Riker, who they held hostage on the Bridge. Riker locked out the computer and was forced to give in to Lurin's demands.

16. Stardate 45703.9. Enterprise is on her way to Earth where Captain Picard will give the address at graduation. Admiral Brand calls and tells Picard that there was a crash, and all five fighters were destroyed. Which pilot died in the crash?

From Quiz First Duty

Answer: Josh Albert

Nova Squadron was practicing on Titan when the crash occurred and all four crew members bailed out except Josh, who was killed.

17. A humanoid woman jumps from a steep cliff inside of a cave and lands onto the surface below, but instead of succumbing to death from the fall, her body shatters into several pieces, revealing that she is an artificial lifeform.

From Quiz Name That Episode #24

Answer: Inheritance

The geologist named Dr. Juliana Tainer, who reveals that she was once married to Dr. Noonian Soong, is discovered to be an android herself when, while traversing the unstable corridors of the cave with Data, she is forced to jump to avoid being crushed by the collapsing ceilings. Moments later, we see the doctor's body parts scattered everywhere across the ground, the computerized components looking remarkably similar to that of Dr. Soong's android creations of the past. Fortunately, Dr. Crusher is able to put Dr. Tainer back together, but Data never tells Dr. Tainer that Dr. Soong had created her as well. That was a lot of mentions of 'doctor', wasn't it?

18. Dr. Crusher visits Wesley at Starfleet Academy in this episode.

From Quiz Name That Episode #23

Answer: The First Duty

Picard joins Dr. Crusher when they both return to Earth to pay a visit to a rehabilitating Wesley, who had sustained injury during a mission involving his friend and squadron leader, Nick Locarno. The visit is a rather abrupt one, however, as Wesley is concentrating on preparing to be questioned in the aftermath of the flight maneuver that accidentally lead to the deaths of fellow Starfleet Academy officers.

19. A Romulan ship is destroyed by a wave of energy emanating in space upon moving in close proximity to both the Enterprise and a star on the verge of going supernova, but the source of that destructive energy is neither the Enterprise nor the star.

From Quiz Name That Episode #19

Answer: Tin Man

The mysterious pea pod-shaped 'Tin Man' lifeform, which is discovered near a star that's about to go supernova, not only has the attention of the Federation, but that of the Romulans as well. Before the Enterprise can reach it, however, a Romulan warbird fires upon the Federation's flagship. With Picard and his crew stuck having to make repairs, the warbird then proceeds to intercept 'Tin Man' on its own. But when the Betazoid Tam Elbrun uses his mental powers to warn 'Tin Man' of the impending danger, the mysterious lifeform emits a ring of blue energy that destroys the warbird and knocks the Enterprise several parsecs back into another sector of space.

20. Counselor Troi is aiming a projectile weapon at a tree in an outdoor environment, but when she fires it, the projectile misses its target completely and ends up lodged in Data's body instead.

From Quiz Name That Episode #18

Answer: Qpid

Q has whisked Picard and the rest of the senior staff off the Enterprise and into the Q Continuum version of Robin Hood's Sherwood Forest. While standing around trying to decide what actions they should take next, everyone is engaged in leisure activities to pass the time, dressed like the various Robin Hood characters that they're portraying. In one of the more humorous moments, Counselor Troi, who is equipped with a bow and arrow, takes aim at a tree, but she wildly misses her target and the arrow instead impales Data in his chest. The Enterprise's resident android, of course, is unaffected by the piercing shot; he calmly takes notice of the Counselor's miscue and removes the arrow without complication.

21. Geordi is onboard an alien ship assisting with repairs when one of the alien passengers shoots him with a hand-held weapon, which happens while the aliens are speaking to Commander Riker via the bridge's main viewscreen.

From Quiz Name That Episode #16

Answer: Samaritan Snare

After answering a distress call to assist the not-so-really-distressed Pakleds, Geordi transports over to the aliens' ship, where he realizes that there's nothing actually in need of repairs; further, he discovers that the Pakleds are not as dumb as they look, as they intentionally sabotaged their own ship in an attempt to persuade Riker to give them what they want. In one scene, when Riker is confronting the Pakleds via the bridge viewscreen, one of the Pakleds stuns Geordi with a phaser while the interior of the Pakleds' ship is in clear sight, forcing anger and frustration to erupt from the Enterprise's first officer.

22. Riker suffers an injury during an away mission down on a planet; as a result, he becomes immune to the effects of a mental invasion that threatens crewmembers back onboard the Enterprise.

From Quiz Name That Episode #15

Answer: Power Play

Riker sustains a broken arm when the shuttlecraft transporting him, Counselor Troi and Data crashes on the moon. When all of them, plus Chief O'Brien (who arrives later equipped with transporter enhancers) are temporarily knocked unconscious, we see blue orbs of energy enter into the bodies of everyone, except Riker. Later, Dr. Crusher surmises that, due to a chemical released into Riker's body caused by his broken arm, the neural energies from the dead officers of the U.S.S. Essex could not take possession of the commander's mind as they did with his other three crewmates. In "Shades Of Gray", Riker did sustain an injury to his leg while down on the planet with Geordi at the beginning of the episode (although we never actually saw the injury take place, only the aftermath) due to the alien microbe that infects him. However, the infection that's attempting to spread into his brain isn't contagious to anyone else onboard the ship. In "The Survivors". Riker does accompany the away team down onto the planet inhabited by Kevin and Rishon Uxbridge, but he does not sustain an injury; further, there is no mental invasion nor alien possession whose effects he becomes immune to in this episode. Then in "Phantasms", Riker, nor anybody else on the ship, embarks on any away missions at all.

23. The Enterprise's computer mistakes Data for talking directly to it while Starfleet records are being accessed, but when Data begins explaining the misunderstanding in elaborate detail, the computer cuts him off before he can explain further.

From Quiz Name That Episode #14

Answer: Conspiracy

Data, after being ordered to do so by a very concerned Picard, is researching recent Starfleet commands via a tabletop computer. When he verbally expresses his astonishment in all of the information he's able to retrieve, the computer mistakes him for making an audio request and asks him to repeat it. Data tells the computer otherwise, then begins to explain the formal definition of him talking to himself. His endless rambling ends abruptly, however, when the computer replies, "Thank you, sir. I understand." It was one of the few humorous moments during the series when the ship's computer, at times, seemed more human than Data himself. "In Theory" sees Data only verbally interacting with the ship's computer when inquiring about the presence of anyone entering his quarters besides Geordi and himself. In "Brothers", Data does manipulate the Enterprise's computer into getting the crew to evacuate the bridge using disguised voice commands and all sorts of security lockouts, but there is never a moment when the computer is misinterpreting something that Data addresses to it. Then in "Identity Crisis", Data does assist in the investigation regarding the disappearances of the members of Commander Leitjen's original away team, comparing the information gathered with known lifeforms in the Federation database, but in none of the instances he's accessing the computer is there an issue with his spoken words being mistaken as voice commands.

24. Dr. Crusher contacts Data over the com, asking him to come to sickbay, but upon his arrival, she promptly flips a switch to instantly deactivate him.

From Quiz Name That Episode #12

Answer: The Game

Under control of the game devices that Riker brought back from his excursion with the Ktarian woman on Risa, Dr. Crusher contacts Data over the com and asks him to come to sickbay. She quickly diverts the android's attention to something else in the room upon his arrival, and while his back is turned, a simple flip of the switch equipped to the ship's operations officer stops him from functioning, causing him to fall flat onto his face. Wesley eventually figures out later that Data must've been deliberately disabled as a preventative means of subduing the one person on the ship who is immune to the effects of the game devices. In "Datalore", we do see Data 'deactivated' at the hands of his maniacal brother, but it happened as a result of a poison slipped into his drink and not as the result of the switch in his back being pulled. In "The Offspring", it's not Data this time who gets deactivated by the flip of a switch, but instead, his newly-created android daughter, Lal, during a scene in his quarters when she is posing a series of too many unanswerable questions to her troubled creator. Then in "Unification, Part 1", the good doctor doesn't disable Data nor has any need to; she only prepares him--and Picard--for cosmetic alteration of their appearance to pose as Romulans before their joint search for Spock.

25. A musical composition being played somewhere on the Enterprise is later the very key in helping the crew to locate an alien ship, where one of the passengers is being the victim of an invasive brain procedure.

From Quiz Name That Episode #11

Answer: Ménage À Troi

During the banquet in Ten Forward commemorating the conclusion of the diplomatic festivities, there is music being played on the rather crude-looking percussion instrument comprising of wooden pieces suspended from strings. Wesley recognizes that music when Data is analyzing the subspace static at the workstation on the bridge. Once the static is filtered out, the exact same beat becomes crystal clear, the bridge crew believing it to be a distress signal sent out by Riker so that the Ferengi ship, the Krayton, can be tracked. Meanwhile, the Ferengi doctor convinces DaiMon Tog to extract Lwaxana Troi's telepathic powers, and the Betazoid 'Daugher Of The Fifth House' soon finds herself bound to an operation table and wailing in sheer agony. In "The Survivors", it's true that there was music being heard onboard the Enterprise--the haunting melody from the music box that Data discovers in the Uxbridges' house down on the planet that drives Counselor Troi to near insanity--but the music didn't help the crew to locate any alien ship where someone was having a procedure performed on their body. In "The Mind's Eye", it's true that Geordi was the victim of the Romulans' invasive brain stimuli while strapped to a chair at the beginning of the episode, but there was no kind of music involved that helped the crew to locate the Romulan ship that captured him. Then in "Lessons", between the tunes being played by Picard and his new-found love interest, Lieutenant Commander Daren, on the flute and piano, respectively, and the orchestral score performed by Data, Daren and the ensign during the concert in Ten Forward, none of these songs were ever used to locate any alien ships in the vicinity of the Enterprise.

26. Nurse Ogawa is addressed as 'Doctor Ogawa' in this episode.

From Quiz Name That Episode #10

Answer: Parallels

In one of Worf's alternate timelines, Nurse Ogawa has taken over the chief medical doctor's duties onboard the Enterprise, revealing to Worf that Geordi is dead after the Klingon security chief and Data figure out the connection between the time jumps and Geordi's VISOR. In "Future Imperfect", Nurse Ogawa does appear in Riker's 'imperfect future' created by the lonely alien, but she is still in her familiar role as nurse while an aged Dr. Crusher is still the chief medical officer. Ogawa also remains the same friendly, dedicated nurse in both "Clues" and "Genesis".

27. Worf is temporarily serving as second in command onboard a Federation vessel whose systems and technology are initially not entirely operational.

From Quiz Name That Episode #8

Answer: Peak Performance

Riker recruits Geordi, Wesley and Worf to be among his crew onboard the U.S.S. Hathaway for the war game simulation. After briefly objecting and suggesting that the superior-in-rank Gerodi be Riker's second in command, the Enterprise's first officer insists on the Klingon tactical officer being the second in command instead. Later in the episode, a female crewmember on the engineering team is in need of optic-wire to perform a routing bypass, which was presumably needed to allow Worf to initiate his planned deceitful maneuvers during battle. As the interior of the rugged Hathaway was already in a state of damaged disarray, Worf simply pulls some of the optic-wire from the ceiling above and thrusts it into the crewmember's hands. In "Conundrum", Worf is more than serving in temporary second in command of the Enterprise after the scan by the alien ship erases the crew's memories and identities. He's functioning as captain of the entire ship, having the other senior officers report to him in the captain's ready room, plus getting a chance to sit down in the captain's chair on the bridge. "Parallels" saw the Klingon tactical officer shifting from one reality to the next; although he finds himself as Riker's first officer in one of those realities, the Enterprise itself was operating at peak efficiency with no kind of anomaly or sustained battle damage affecting ship systems at all. Then in "Redemption, Part 1", Worf is never in a command position at all--not during the abbreviated time he's still onboard the Enterprise and nor while he's assuming his new post onboard Gowron's Klingon warbird.

28. Picard is fencing with another crewmember when a temporal anomaly affecting the Enterprise interrupts the match, causing the captain to react with grave concern and immediately report to the bridge.

From Quiz Name That Episode #7

Answer: We'll Always Have Paris

At the beginning of one of the earliest 'time travel-related' episodes of the series, Picard and an unnamed lieutenant are fencing in preparation for the crew's shore leave. After Picard's epee makes contact with the lieutenant's chest and the two men unmask themselves, they engage in a short conversation where the lieutenant asks his captain the type of move that was just performed on him. That short conversation, however, is repeated, which alerts them that something strange is happening on the ship. It's revealed later that the experiments performed by an old acquaintance, a Dr. Paul Manheim, are responsible for the temporal anomaly that occurred. Although all of the other three episodes do deal with events repeating themselves, albeit in their own unique different ways, Picard isn't engaged in a fencing match in any of them.

29. Picard finds himself completely covered in mud in this episode.

From Quiz Name That Episode #6

Answer: Family

Following his experience with the Borg Collective back in the "Best Of Both Worlds" two-parter, the captain has taken some time off away from the Enterprise to return back home to France, where he's reacquainted with his nephew, brother and sister-in-law. His jealous brother, Robert, however, isn't particularly happy to see him, and when tempers finally flare while they are having it out in the vineyard, the two brothers soon find themselves in a grappling match, wrestling each other onto the ground until they are both completely covered in mud. Yet all is well once they grow tired of fighting, laughing uncontrollably at their display of childishness. In "Who Watches The Watchers?", although Picard does gets his hands 'dirty' (in a figurative sense, that is) when he goes down to the planet to work in convincing the Mintakans that he's not a god, he manages to keep is uniform from literally becoming dirty this time. In "The Arsenal Of Freedom" (one of my personal favorite episodes from the first season), both Picard and Dr. Crusher fall into a pit when fleeing from one of the airborne weapons, and although he does get a bit dirty from the fall, he's not completely covered in mud. The same holds true for "Attached"; Picard and his uniform do get a bit dirty while he and Dr. Crusher are lying in the prison, then a little more while they're traversing the underground caverns and eventually the planet's surface, but he doesn't get completely covered with mud while they're mounting their escape from the prison on foot.

30. In the same episode, Worf is served a glass of a favorite drink that he promptly pours out while a child ages by a span of years in less than a minute.

From Quiz Name That Episode #5

Answer: Hide And Q

In the beginning of the episode, the omnipotent alien has transported Riker, Yar, Data, Geordi and Worf to an unknown planet to commence the 'game' he has in store for them. To celebrate the 'occasion', he magically puts a glass of their respective favorite drinks in their hands, which a disgusted Worf turns upside down and pours to the ground. Later, after Riker has been granted the omnipotent powers of the Q Continuum, he bestows a gift upon each individual crewmember on the bridge, giving them what they most desire. For Wesley, it's his wish to become a grown man, so with a nod of the head, he transforms the teenage acting ensign to exactly that. But when everyone realizes that the source of their gifts is the powers of the Q Continuum, they ask for those very same gifts to be taken away and restored back to normal. In "The Child", it's true that the alien lifeform that impregnates Troi ages by a span of years (from an infant to a young boy) throughout the episode, but Worf pouring a drink onto the ground does not happen at all. In "Parallels", even with all of the changes Worf experiences in his jumps back and forth to and from the alternate universes, there are no children seen in any of them. Besides that, he's never served a drink; he only replicates champagne for himself and Counselor Troi to celebrate his birthday at the very end of the episode. "Yesterday's Enterprise" offers up a little bit of trickiness, as the only 'child' who could be seen as somebody aging by a span of years is Wesley who, as a result of the encounter with the anomaly, becomes a lieutenant on the alternate Enterprise and, presumably, older. However, Worf is never served a favorite drink that he disposes of, even though there was in fact a scene where Guinan serves Worf a glass of prune juice she wants him to sample at the very beginning.
