'Star Trek: Voyager' - Episodes Trivia Questions

62. The episode opens with a celebration. What is the crew celebrating?

From Quiz 'Star Trek: Voyager' - 'Year of Hell'

Answer: The completion of the Astrometrics Lab

They are celebrating the completion of the Astrometrics Lab, which Seven of Nine and Ensign Kim design. It features prominently in later episodes.

63. In the future, how long had Voyager taken to get home?

From Quiz 'Star Trek: Voyager' - 'Endgame' Quiz

Answer: 23 years

64. How many 'false labors' had B'Elanna had, according to Chakotay?

From Quiz 'Endgame' - The Finale

Answer: 3

Janeway, upon hearing of another false labor, said that the 'baby is as stubborn as her mother.'

65. Who did Harry have to modify the Astrometrics Lab with?

From Quiz 'ST: Voyager' Trivia 'Revulsion'

Answer: Seven of Nine

66. Seven begins to experience issues with her cortical node (which has started to malfunction). She cannot regenerate, so she goes to the mess hall. When Neelix enters at 0500, how many glasses does Seven have at her table?

From Quiz "Imperfection"

Answer: 3

There are three glasses at Seven's table. The contain "nutritional supplements" that she thought would help compensate for her inability to regenerate. Neelix asks, "Your own recipe?" Seven states that it was a mixture of metabolic enzymes and protein extract. Neelix offers to make her a Talaxian omelette, but Seven declines.

67. When we first see Voyager, Janeway enters the bridge and demands a report. Kim tells her that they have entered some kind of subspace corridor. According to Paris, how fast had they been "cruising" when they were pulled into it?

From Quiz "Dragon's Teeth"

Answer: Warp 6

Paris says that the supspace corridor "pulled at their warp field like a magnet." Apparently it was sudden, since he uses the word "wham!" to explain their being pulled in.

68. Janeway confronts Seven about her 'research' in her ready room. Janeway realizes that she is missing a pip from her dress uniform and asks Seven to help her put it on. According to Seven's point of view, which pip was Janeway missing?

From Quiz "Someone to Watch Over Me"

Answer: Rightmost

As Seven puts on the pip, Janeway asks her if she has ever considered trying romance herself. Seven claims that she does not require a romantic relationship. Janeway asks, "So why did you collect 30,000 gigaquads of data on the subject?"

69. During the wedding ceremony of Paris and Torres, Seven tells the Doctor that, given the nature of Tom and B'Elanna's relationship, one might have predicted what rather than matrimony?

From Quiz "Course: Oblivion"

Answer: homicide

After the Doctor says, "I never thought I'd see the day," Seven mentions, "Given the volatile nature of their relationship, one might have predicted homicide rather than matrimony." Tuvok tells her that it is wise to look beyond logic when considering matters of the human heart.

70. After returning from their away mission of searching for a new source of deuterium, Paris is carrying a sleeping Naomi Wildman while walking with Seven. Which two crewmen run past them in the corridor?

From Quiz "Bliss"

Answer: White and Boylen

Paris remarks, "They're in a hurry." To which Seven tells him, "Crewman Boylen and White -- frequently late for their duty shifts." Crewmen Chell, Gerron, and Henley were all former Maquis officers trained by Tuvok in "Learning Curve". Crewman Dorado is a human officer seen in the episode "Revulsion" and "Hunters". Crewman Jones is one of the crewman seen participating in Paris' gambling operation in "Meld". Crewman Sharr is a female operations division security officer seen in several episodes, including "The Chute" and "The Killing Game".

71. During the inspection, Torres is asked why power has been routed through the transporter system. She claims that it is part of a routine diagnostic. Where does the Devore inspector tell her that the problem is in their transporters?

From Quiz "Counterpoint"

Answer: The primary energizing coils

Although Torres claims that they have been having trouble with their imaging scanners, the Devore inspector is quick to tell her that the problem is in the primary energizing coils, followed with a curt, "Focus your efforts there." Torres replies with, "Thanks for the tip," and a slight shake of her head.

72. Seven catches Naomi Wildman following her around. Fill in the word that correctly completes this quote from Seven to Naomi: "Naomi Wildman, _________ of Ensign Samantha Wildman, state your intentions."

From Quiz "Infinite Regress"

Answer: subunit

Naomi confesses that she was observing Seven so that she could learn how to be perfect, thus becoming Captain Janeway's bridge assistant.

73. Voyager comes across a Mutara-class nebula and tries going through it. Most of the crew begins having horrible side effects. Captain Janeway orders Paris to lay in a course to clear the nebula. Who actually lays in the course?

From Quiz "One"

Answer: Tuvok

The nebula is "vast" (it extends for at least 110 light-years). It would take Voyager over a month to go through it and more than a year to get around it. Janeway says that after coming 15,000 light-years, she is not going to be stopped by a nebula.

74. What color does Janeway use in her clearance code to access the secured file "Omega One"?

From Quiz "The Omega Directive"

Answer: Red

The complete code is: "Janeway-1153-RED Clearance level 10"

75. Neelix, after bringing a meal to an alien inside the brig, is physically attacked inside the alien's cell, then shot with his own phaser as he's calling for security.

From Quiz Name That Episode #41

Answer: Live Fast And Prosper

'Sister Dala', the alien impersonating Janeway, ends up being captured and placed in Voyager's brig. In one scene, Neelix brings food to their deceitful inmate and even attempts to bond with her, wanting to know why she resorts to the exploitation of strangers. But the Talaxian lets his guard down too much, because when he turns to get her something off the food tray, 'Sister Dala' knocks him over the back and snatches his phaser. Before the brig security officer can react, fake Janeway blasts him with a phaser shot, then blasts Neelix in the chest as he's calling for security. Fake Janeway then leaves the brig and eventually flees Voyager, heading back down to the planet to join her scheming comrades for their final transaction of illegal resources.

76. This was the LAST episode where aliens attempt to seize control of Voyager upon entering the bridge.

From Quiz Name That Episode #39

Answer: Q2

Another one to think about, but in general, there were less enemy alien takeover attempts in the latter part of the series than in earlier seasons. In the the third and final Q episode, "Q2", Q Junior summoned the Borg cubes and caused several drones to board the bridge as part of his annoying antics to get Janeway's attention. Although it was unknown if the Borg really were wanting to take control of Voyager, it has to be assumed that, given the Borg's nature of always wanting to assimilate other species and being presented with the opportunity to seize another Federation ship into their massive collective, that they wanted to do exactly that. "Prophecy" did show the mighty Klingons attempting to fulfill their decades-long mission, boarding the bridge and engaging in not a blood-shedding bat'leth melee, but a Federation-style phaser fight with the crew. However, "Prophecy" aired a few weeks BEFORE "Q2" and, thus, cannot qualify as the correct answer. "Homestead", also airing in the seventh season, did air much later than "Q2", but neither the aliens of the mining colony nor the Talaxians themselves attempted any sort of takeover of Voyager. In "Repentance", the prisoners did escape from their cells in the brig at some point, but none ever enter the bridge nor try to take control of Voyager directly. Once again, however, this episode aired BEFORE "Q2" and cannot qualify as the correct answer either.

77. Neelix, after personally delivering a library of recorded ship logs, vocally regrets that he doesn't have nearly as vast a collection of his own and that the only memory of his sister that he has in his possession is a faded holo-image.

From Quiz Name That Episode #38

Answer: Dark Frontier

Midway through this exciting two-hour Borg adventure, Neelix delivers PADDs to Seven while she's in the cargo bay, the PADDs containing records of the logs her parents kept while onboard the U.S.S. Raven. Regretfully, Neelix offers up his wish to have a treasure trove of family memories like the one he gives to Seven. The only memory he has of his family, he says, is a holo-image of his sister, Alixia, after everyone else died in the Metreon Cascade disaster on Rinax.

78. Neelix TWICE sees an exact physical double of himself, in some form or another, in this episode.

From Quiz Name That Episode #36

Answer: Mortal Coil

The first time the ship's morale officer sees a copy of himself is when he is on the holoideck with Chakotay, running a simulation of the original protomatter nebula accident that had resulted in the Talaxian's death at the beginning of the episode. Holographic versions of Paris and Neelix are created when Chakotay initiates the program. When the lightning blast from the nebula zaps the holographic Neelix, the real Neelix kneels down to observe the lifeless photonic version of himself, prompting him to confess his feelings about death to Voyager's first officer. The second time occurs during Neelix's vision quest into the Talaxian afterlife, as he is wandering through The Great Forest. There, Neelix not only is reunited with his sister, Alixia, but he also sees an exact duplicate of himself hiding under a sheet when he goes to uncover it.

79. Ensign Wildman is seen noticeably pregnant for the FIRST time in this episode.

From Quiz Name That Episode #35

Answer: Tattoo

We learn of Samantha's pregnancy at the very end of "Elogium", but we don't actually see her stomach starting to show until she checks in for her prenatal visit to sickbay in "Tattoo". Wildman does not appear at all in neither "Cold Fire" nor "Resistance". She does, however, appear again in "Dreadnought" for her second prenatal visit, but this episode aired much later than "Tattoo", and thus cannot qualify as the correct answer here.

80. Harry is on the holodeck, programming an alien character with speech parameters while the room's hologrid, and no interactive background, is clearly visible all around him.

From Quiz Name That Episode #34

Answer: Nothing Human

The Cardassian hologram named Crell Moset is extracted from the Federation database in order for the Doctor to interact with him in hopes of finding a way to remove the alien creature attached to B'Elanna's body. Initially, Harry is having difficulty getting Moset's speech subroutines to function properly, much to the Doctor's disappointment, but eventually gets everything to work. Besides the Doctor himself, Moset is the only interactive holographic object visible during this particular moment. There is no background scenery at all; only the surrounding hologrid and the holodeck floor are present. In "Distant Origin", we do see the holodeck's hologrid when the evolution of the Voth is being analyzed by Janeway and the Doctor, but Harry is not present and nor is he programming the holographic Voth to be able to speak. Harry does not appear on the holodeck at all in neither "Innocence" nor "Retrospect".

81. The Doctor terminates his own program when an alien intruder armed with a hand-held weapon enters sickbay, but he re-materializes later automatically once the intruder and the intruder's accomplices have exited the room.

From Quiz Name That Episode #33

Answer: Basics, Part 1

After the Kazon-Nistrim has seized Voyager and begun boarding the ship, they are forcefully removing individual crewmembers out of every room, including sickbay. The Doctor, however, conceals himself from view while giving a voice command to the ship's computer to make his program go offline for twelve hours, at which time he would be re-activated automatically. By that time, all the other crewmembers (minus Paris and murderer, Lon Suder) have already been dropped off on the primeval Hanon 4. But it left open the opportunity for he and Suder to regain control of Voyager, which would eventually occur in the third-season premiere. In "Unforgettable", the Ramuran bounty hunter Kellin did trigger an intruder alert when recounting how she fell in love with Chakotay. Plus, another one of the Ramuran bounty hunters materializes on the ship when he tracks Kellin down later in Chakotay's quarters. However, in neither of these instances of intrusion did the Doctor need to terminate his own program. There were no intruders at all in neither "Dragon's Teeth" nor "Repentance"; the crew was willingly working with the Vaadwaur to outwit the Turei and showing hospitality to the Nygean prisoners, respectively.

82. Janeway gives a voice command to delete a personal computer log entry, but we never actually see her speaking when she gives that command.

From Quiz Name That Episode #32

Answer: The Cloud

This one is very tricky! At the beginning of "The Cloud", Janeway is taking a leisurely stroll through Voyager while we hear her (presumably) THINKING about a log she recorded beforehand where she's reflecting upon observations she's made about her new Starfleet/Maquis crew. In the final sentence of that log, she orders the computer to delete the last entry while we see her shaking her head in shame onscreen. In "Latent Image", we do find out that it was Janeway who went to sickbay to delete the files that had recorded the prior conversations between the Doctor and Seven, thanks to Doc's holo-imager. However, we DON'T see nor hear Janeway verbally deleting any of her own personal logs. In "Renaissance Man", even with all of the 'hologram shape-shifting' that the Doctor does while covertly working for the 'spy aliens' in order to hand over the warp core to them, there is never a moment Janeway (or the Doctor disguised as Janeway) is verbally deleting personal log entries. Then in "Coda", Janeway isn't verbally deleting personal logs at all--not in any of the instances she experiences death nor after she becomes a walking ghost image and is presumed 'dead' by the crew.

83. A jukebox is seen playing music in this episode.

From Quiz Name That Episode #30

Answer: Homestead

At the very beginning of Neelix's farewell-to-Voyager episode, we see the merry Talaxian dancing to some groovy music that is playing from a jukebox, as there is a festive celebration taking place in the mess hall. Neelix tries to get Tuvok to join in and dance with him, but the always-logical Vulcan declines the friendly invitation. In "Course: Oblivion", we do see (and hear) some nice jazz music being played by the duplicate Harry and his duplicate bandmates in the duplicate Voyager mess hall at the very beginning of the episode, but there is no jukebox present. In "Vis À Vis", we get to hear some groovy music again, but it only comes courtesy of Paris's Chevy Camaro, the 20th century vehicle he's servicing on the holodeck and what allows us a peek at his hobby as an auto mechanic. There is no special music for us to enjoy at all in "The Bride Of Chaotica!"...except for the 1960's-themed orchestral instrumentals of this wacky episode's production itself.

84. Cucumber sandwiches are among the culinary dishes displayed on the counter of Neelix's kitchen in this episode.

From Quiz Name That Episode #31

Answer: Persistence Of Vision

Among the haunting images from Janeway's holonovel is the plate of cucumber sandwiches that she sees upon entering the mess hall; the sandwiches, ironically, never get eaten in this episode. Just cucumber slices between triangular slices of plain bread--perhaps not so appetizing? Even the holographic character Beatrice herself commented that she didn't like the way the cook made them. However, the second time Janeway enters the mess hall to ask about the lunch menu, Neelix doesn't remember the cucumber sandwiches at all, confirming later that everything she saw from the holonovel was nothing more than a hallucination. Cucumber sandwiches are not being served in any of the other three episodes.

85. Tuvok participates in a holodeck program where he finds himself choking someone to death.

From Quiz Name That Episode #29

Answer: Meld

In a test to gauge his ability to remain in control after having initiated the transferring of thoughts with the murderer, Lon Suder, Tuvok runs a simple holodeck program where he is seated in the mess hall and a friendly holographic Neelix is attempting to force a smile out of him. Of course, we wouldn't actually find out that it WAS a holodeck program until, after the holographic Neelix's persistence becomes a little too much to bear, the Vulcan chief of security slowly yet violently chokes the holographic Talaxian to death. Tuvok does appear on the holodeck in all of the other three episodes--working with the French Resistance in the "Killing Game" two-parter, arriving at the scene of the attack on Ensign Tabor in Paris's movie theater in "Repression" and taking part in his own 'Insurrection Alpha' program with Paris in "Worst Case Scenario"--but he's never seen choking anyone to death in any of these three instances.

86. After "Faces", this would be the only other episode in the series where B'Elanna, in some form or another, is seen without her usual Klingon ridges and make-up.

From Quiz Name That Episode #26

Answer: Author, Author

This one's a bit tricky also! When the Doctor creates a holonovel based upon his experiences onboard the fictional 'U.S.S. Federation Starship Vortex', he exaggerates the personalities, as well as the cosmetic appearances, of all of the Voyager crewmembers he's included in his latest stroke of literary artistry. When it's the real B'Elanna's chance to play the role of the oppressed EMH, she encounters a holographic version of herself in the Vortex's engineering, appearing all human with no tanned Klingon make-up or familiar forehead ridges to be seen. In "The Killing Game, Part 2", although B'Elanna was pregnant and had been unknowingly forced to play the dual role of Paris's distant lover and the Nazi general's girlfriend while secretly working with Neelix, Janeway and the other members of the French Resistance, all of her Klingon make-up and forehead ridges remained intact for the duration of the simulation. In "Lineage", both the younger version of B'Elanna in her flashbacks and the grown-up present-day version of the chief engineer are seen with the familiar Klingon make-up and forehead ridges. Only the holographic representations of her unborn baby girl are seen without Klingon make-up and forehead ridges, as B'Elanna is making adjustments to the infant's DNA structure on the holodeck before secretly downloading the procedure into the Doctor's program. Then in "Pathfinder", the holographic representation of B'Elanna created by our beloved Reginald Barclay is seen with the familiar Klingon make-up and forehead ridges during the entire episode; the only thing different about her appearance-wise is her original Maquis attire we saw her in all the way back in "Caretaker".

87. B'Elanna surprises Paris with an antique from 20th century Earth, but that antique becomes the source of another surprise after B'Elanna falls asleep.

From Quiz Name That Episode #24

Answer: Memorial

A television set complete with cartoons and a remote control--that is the gift the half-Klingon engineer gives to her loverboy conn officer. But after B'Elanna falls asleep on a couch in his quarters, Paris is startled when the cartoons he was watching begins to show an image of himself taking part in the bloody war fought on Tarakis, the horrific imagery later discovered to have been caused by Voyager's proximity to the neural signals created by the memorial that the aliens built, a reminder to anyone passing through that part of space about the atrocities that occurred on that planet. In "Barge Of The Dead", the only antique of interest in this episode is the metal fragment inscribed with the Klingon insignia that is recovered from B'Elanna's shuttle crash and given to her by Chakotay. Although B'Elanna imagines the metal to be bleeding and screaming, which was surely a surprise in itself, it definitely wasn't of 20th century Earth origin. In "Friendship One", the only antique of interest here is the Friendship One probe itself. But it's the entire crew who is surprised by the probe's discovery when Voyager's sensors detect it. And despite the secondary surprise of the probe having caused the nuclear winter on the aliens' homeworld, B'Elanna falling asleep is something that never happens for the duration of the mission to retrieve the probe. In "Alice", besides the ship from the alien junkyard that ends up taking possession of Paris's mind and the various other pieces of junk salvaged by Neelix and Seven, there are no other antiques of interest seen in this episode, and definitely nothing of value from 20th century Earth.

88. Tuvok suggests that an alien be assigned to work with Neelix in the mess hall before it's suggested that the alien work alongside Tuvok instead.

From Quiz Name That Episode #22

Answer: Unforgettable

Chakotay recommends that the alien bounty hunter named Kellin, whom he had fallen in love with, join Tuvok's security detail while the pair are walking together in a corridor, given her experience with security measures. But before that suggestion, Tuvok offers that Kellin would be a perfect fit for working alongside Neelix in the mess hall, insinuating that the Talaxian morale officer would need protection from the wrath of crewmembers who often get riled up as a result of Neelix's cooking flaws in the kitchen. In "Homestead", Tuvok doesn't make any kinds of suggestions to Neelix at all, except to 'live long and prosper', which he says during Neelix's farewell walk to the shuttlebay. Besides that, none of the Talaxians on the asteroid, nor the hostile alien miners Voyager encounters in space, are suggested to work along with Tuvok in any shape or form. In "Drone", Neelix does accompany the newly-created 29th-century hybrid aptly named 'One' when helping the new Borg adjust to new life on Voyager, but he does so under the instruction of Seven when ordered to go to sickbay for the Borg's medical checkup. In "Rise", it's never suggested that neither Tuvok nor Neelix work with any of the Nezu to solve the mystery of the invading asteroids. Tuvok is ordered by the captain to investigate, and Neelix joins the team initially to just be part of the learning expedition before his knowledge about the orbital tether eventually forces everyone to have to work together under the Talaxian's command.

89. In the same episode, Tuvok is served some replicated cake without eating it while Kes sees a holographic image of someone outside of the holodeck.

From Quiz Name That Episode #21

Answer: Fury

In both the beginning of the episode (before Kes's unexpected encounter) and at the end of the episode (when Janeway and Tuvok are now both aware of what Kes is trying to do), Tuvok is in Janeway's ready room, where the captain surprises him with a plate of Jibalian fudge cake from the replicator for his birthday. Tuvok never eats the cake in either case, only blowing out the candles to humor the captain before he and Janeway exit the room together and return to the bridge. Meanwhile, upon Voyager's second encounter with the vengeful Kes, they've planned ahead and rigged engineering to where the warp core is taken offline, a holographic image of the younger Kes being programmed to convince the vengeful Kes to change her mind about sending Voyager back in time to allow the crew to fall victim to the organ-harvesting Vidiians.
