Character Deaths Trivia Questions

1. How did Omar Little meet his demise on "The Wire"?

From Quiz
Terrible Final Calls

Answer: Shot in the head

Michael K. Williams played the fan favorite stickup man for five seasons on "The Wire". In the end, it wasn't some stick up gone wrong that did him in, but a child with a gun. The child shot him in the side of the head, ending his run on the show. What made the character stand out was he was portrayed as a gay man in a traditionally macho role as a hardened criminal.

2. Which actor had his contract terminated with "Two and a Half Men" in 2011?

From Quiz They Had To Write Them Out

Answer: Charlie Sheen & Sheen

"Two and a Half Men" was an American sitcom that aired for twelve seasons on CBS. Charlie Sheen played Charlie Harper in the sitcom from its beginning in 2003, until his termination in 2011. In early 2011 Charlie Sheen had gone into drug rehabilitation, and the show was put on hiatus indefinitely. Within a few weeks Charlie had publicly made disparaging comments about Chuck Lorre the co-creator and producer of the show as well as CBS, and on more than one occasion. Production of the show was then stopped for the rest of the eighth season costing millions of dollars in lost revenue. In March of 2011, CBS and Warner Bros jointly announced they were terminating Charlie's contract. The first episode of the season nine saw Charlie dead, hit by a train. He had apparently died while on his honeymoon with Rose. On the final episode of the show Charlie is found to be alive, he had been held captive in Rose's basement after he had cheated on her on their honeymoon. He escapes and is about to enter his house when he is killed by a piano falling on him.

3. "Dallas" was the on the air for 14 seasons starting in 1978. During that run the star was shot and nearly killed. In 2012 the show, along with lead character J.R. Ewing, returned. In the reprisal he was (finally) murdered. Who ultimately shot J.R.?

From Quiz ... Sleeps With the Fishes

Answer: Bum Jones

The end of the third season of the original series left viewers wondering "Who shot J.R.?" That question was answered and the character went on. When the show relaunched in 2012, Larry Hagman returned to the role. After Hagman died in the real world, writers chose to write him off with another "Who shot J.R." mystery, though this one wasn't a season ending cliffhanger. Bum Jones was J.R.'s employee and killed him in an attempt to frame Cliff Barnes for the murder. J.R. knew he had only a short time left to live anyway, with inoperable cancer being his diagnosis.
