| You should not repeat the same phrase over and over in your quiz. For example, quizzes whose questions all begin with "Who said..." become repetitive and a little boring. See how many different ways you can say something or putting the instructions in the introduction. Please capitalise each of the words in the title of the quiz, tv show and episode. Don't say things are easy because it may not be easy for everyone. Don't use special characters like * and ~. We won't let you put them in your title or introduction so people will 'notice' your quiz, so don't bother. Don't use the & symbol in complete sentences or in multiple choice answers. There have been reports of people being marked incorrectly when there are & symbols in multiple choice answers. Don't end the title of the quiz with a period. Just follow the general rules of titles of books and movies, they use quesiton marks or exclamation points, but no periods. You shouldn't say things like "Can you name this show?" as the question. Why? Because then the answer would have to be yes or no and both would have to be correct. Phrased like this, you're asking if the person knows something, you are not asking for the actual answer. Please follow the rules for English grammar. These include spelling, punctuation, conjugation of verbs, and spacing. Don't use HTML in your quiz. Please write in complete sentences instead of ending questions with a colon. Using a spell-check program and having someone proofread your quiz are also great things that even the editors do to make sure their quizzes are in good shape before submitting. Don't begin/end your quizzes with sentences that say things like "To start off..." or "And finally..." because such statements won't make sense if the question is separated from the rest of the quiz for something like the daily or hourly quiz. Questions should be about the show itself. Questions that cannot be answered by watching the show should be used sparingly, if at all. If you are newer to making questions, we ask that ALL questions be about television shows, ideally answerable by just watching the show. Biographical questions about the actors should technically be in the Celebrities category. As you become more experienced with making quizzes, then quizzes about what the actors in the show have done besides being in the show will be allowed. Please write out numbers less than 10 when used in a sentence. Also, please note that if you are copying the quotes from somewhere (as opposed to listening and writing as you watch the show), you need to cite where you are getting your quotes from. 30 Oct 06 |
